Eugene Simon is decked out in Dior Homme for the fourth issue of Varón, on stands worldwide September 8.
The 19-year-old Brit is best known for playing Lancel Lannister, the squire to King Robert Baratheon in HBO’s breakout series Game of Thrones. Check out what Eugene opened up to the mag about:
On the fact that he’ll be famous soon: “Oh, I don’t know about that. Fame isn’t something I’m pursuing. But both Game of Thrones and [Nickelodeon series] House of Anubis have been renewed for second seasons, and they obviously have very different demographics so I just hope that both audiences will enjoy what I do.”
On working with Heath Ledger in Casanova: “I remember him very distinctly. The very first day I went on set, he passed me by – he knew I was playing him as a kid – and he scruffled my hair and said, ‘Hello, mini me!’ During my time on set in Venice, Heath and Omid Djalili were the two people I hung out with and observed. At the time, I hadn’t fully appreciated what big a star Heath was and would become, but I do remember him being a really lively and lovely character. He was so influential and incredibly talented.”
On first hearing about Heath’s death: “I was at my first boarding school, and this girl who really adored him started screaming, ‘Heath has died!’ I was shocked to the core. It was such a massive tragedy. It’s an honor to say you’ve played the younger part of an actor like him. I’m very lucky in that respect.”
Game of Thrones returns to HBO in Spring 2012. Soooooo excited!!!
