WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!

Netflix‘s Who Killed Sara? is quickly becoming one of the streamer’s big hits, and already, fans are wondering if we’ll be treated to a second season of the Spanish-language series.

The show premiered on Wednesday (March 24), and as it turned out, it ended with a major cliffhanger – and we still don’t actually know who killed Sara.

And great news – Netflix officially renewed the show for season two!

Here is the official synopsis: “Alex, a man convicted of a crime he did not commit, is released after 18 years behind bars. Upon leaving, he only wants revenge on Rodolfo Lazcano, the person responsible for the death for which he was sentenced. Things get complicated when Alex starts a sentimental relationship with Elisa, the Lazcano’s youngest daughter, and when he discovers that Rodolfo is innocent and that someone else, who has skillfully kept in the shadows, was the true cause of his disgrace.”

In the final episode, the show explores Sara’s mental state at the time of her supposed murder, and includes some flashbacks that make it less clear whether the Lazcanos are in fact responsible for her death. The mystery is far from solved, so fans are naturally eager to explore the story even further.

The show’s creator Jose Ignacio Valenzuela said in a recent interview that to pitch a story to a streamer, one must have a story that lasts at least three seasons and possibly more.

“All the secrets that all the characters have come to light, and everybody is going to understand that nobody knows anybody; that nothing is how it appears to be,” Manolo Cardona hinted in an interview.
