Fantasia has reportedly revealed she got pregnant by her then-married boyfriend Antwaun Cook and had an abortion around the time of her overdose.

The 26-year-old American Idol season 3 winner made the confession in a North Carolina courtroom on Monday during Antwaun‘s divorce proceedings, according to Radar Online.

Fantasia was hospitalized in August for a medication overdose. At the time, Antwaun‘s wife alleged the singer had been having an affair with her husband.

Fantasia previously said she dated Antwaun “off and on for about 11 months” but believed he had been separated at the time.

Fantasia belts out “Bittersweet,” the new single off her third album Back to Me, on Tuesday (August 24) inside the Good Morning America studio in NYC.

The 26-year-old singer returned to the stage for the first time since her hospitalization and overdose earlier this month.

“I think I was just overloaded with everything, with carrying six years of so much,” the season 3 American Idol champ told GMA anchor Robin Roberts. “I always take a licking and keep on ticking…it just became heavy for me to the point that I just wanted to be away from the noise.”

“There’s so much that people don’t understand. They just see the glitz and the glamour, and they feel like life is so perfect, but we’re human and we go through things,” she said.

Fantasia has opened up about her overdose earlier this month…and she says that the incident was no accident.

“I didn’t have any fight in me. I didn’t care about anything. I just wanted out,” the 26-year-old singer told VH1 (via People). “At that moment, I wanted out. I wanted it to be over with – all of it, all of that s—.”

A new Behind The Music featuring Fantasia will air this Tuesday (August 24) at 9/8c – the same day that her new album, Back to Me, comes out.

“I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace,” Fantasia continued. “I knew exactly what I was doing. You can’t accidentally take a whole bottle of pills.”

Fantasia Barrino has been hospitalized after what her rep called a “medication overdose”.

The 26-year-old singer’s condition is reportedly not life-threatening.

Fantasia‘s hospitalization on Monday coincided with a North Carolina woman’s allegations that her husband had an affair with Fantasia and broke up their marriage.

Her lawyer said the woman used Fantasia‘s name to “sensationalize that litigation and to insure that her tale would be picked up by tabloids” (via People).
