Jane Levy is speaking out in response to Don’t Breathe director Fede Alvarez‘s claims about why she did not return for the sequel.

The 31-year-old actress, who most recently starred in the just-canceled NBC series Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, led the cast of the hit 2016 horror film Don’t Breathe.

The only cast member who is returning for Don’t Breathe 2, which hits theaters next month, is Stephen Lang. He plays Norman Nordstrom, aka The Blind Man.

Fede wrote and directed the first movie and he returned as the writer of the sequel, though he handed off directing duties to first-time director Rodo Sayagues. He also directed Jane in the 2013 horror film Evil Dead.

Fede Álvarez is attached to direct Lionsgate’s upcoming movie, 16 States.

THR reports that the script, which was penned last year, is very timely with its’ subject matter.

The script concentrates on “a pandemic, this time with zombies, with a story of a mother trying to reach her family at the center of it.”

The site reports that the script is reminiscent of Will Smith‘s I Am Legend.

Fede, along with writers John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, and Charlie Gogolak, Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, Shintaro Shimosawa and Rodolfo Sayagues will also produce the film.

Also in attendance to show their support was Stella Maxwell, Frankie Grande and boyfriend Daniel Sinasohn, and Arturo Castro.

Claire Foy is rocking a new hairdo for her upcoming role!

The 33-year-old The Crown actress sported the fresh style while stepping out for a photo call for The Girl in the Spider’s Web on Friday (April 13) in Stockholm, Sweden.

She was joined by director and writer Fede Alvarez along with her co-stars Sverrir Gudnason, Lakeith Stanfield, and Stephen Merchant upon completion of principal photography.

In the thriller, which the group is currently filming, Claire will play young computer hacker Lisbeth Salander, the cult figure from Stieg Larsson‘s “Millennium” book series. Her character joins journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Sverrir) as they find themselves caught in a web of spies, cybercriminals, and corrupt government officials.
