Fifty Shades of Grey will easily top the President’s Day weekend box office with a whopping $90.7 million debut!
According to THR, the film adaptation, starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, saw a huge bump on Valentine’s Day, making it the No. 2 February opening of all time after Mel Gibson‘s The Passion of the Christ.
Coming in a No. 2 was Kingsman: The Secret Service, starring Colin Firth and Taron Egerton, with an impressive estimated gross of $41 million for the long holiday.
Taking the third spot was The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, which brought in an estimated $30.5 million for the three days and will have made more than $100 million by the end of the long weekend.
Rounding out the top five were Bradley Cooper‘s American Sniper and Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis‘ Jupiter Ascending, which earned $16.4 million and $9.4 million, respectively for the three-day weekend.
Meanwhile, The Last Five Years, starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan pulled in $45,107 from three seasons, for an average of $15,036.
