'Stranger Things' Season 5: Cast Will Get Big Salary Bumps, Though Filming Date Is Still Unknown

Stranger Things season four between May and July 2022, but fans will be waiting a while for more episodes as filming hasn’t even started on the fifth and final season.

Back in January 2023, it was announced the the cast would be getting big pay bumps for the next season and that the episodes would begin production in May 2023.

Because of the writers strike and now the actors strike, production never began and it’s unclear when it will.

The show’s creators, The Duffer Brothers, have said that they will not be introducing major new characters in the final season and they will focus on wrapping the storylines of the existing characters.

'Stranger Things' Season 5 Delayed Over Writer's Strike, Duffer Brothers Provide Update

Matt and Ross Duffer (aka the Duffer Brothers) have confirmed the status of season five of Stranger Things.

If you don’t know, last week, the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) announced that Hollywood writers would go on strike.

Thousands of unionized writers have been arguing for fair wages in the streaming era. In the last few weeks, negotiations stalled and broke down, and the board of directors for the WGA voted unanimously to call for a walkout.

The strike began on early Tuesday (May 2), effectively bringing TV production to a halt and marking the first walkout in more than 15 years.

Emma Stone Joins Jesse Eisenberg for the Premiere of His Directorial Debut!

Emma Stone and Jesse Eisenberg are joining forces on the red carpet!

The two stars stepped out together for the premiere of the new movie When You Finish Saving the World on Thursday night (January 12) at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City.

Jesse made his directorial debut with the movie and Emma served as one of the film’s producers.

Also in attendance were cast members Finn Wolfhard, Billy Bryk, Alisha Boe, and Jay O. Sanders.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes actors Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth also were on the red carpet for the premiere screening. Mark Ruffalo was there with his wife Sunrise Coigney.

The film that is based on Jesse‘s 2020 audio drama of the same name and the trailer is out now. The movie will be released on January 20.
