Andrew Scott Has a Message for Fans Who Still Care About His 'Fleabag' Character

Andrew Scott has some harsh words for people who still care about Fleabag.

The Prime Video series starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge premiered in 2016 and aired a second season in 2019. In season 2, Andrew played The Priest, who later became known by fans as The Hot Priest.

While promoting his new show Ripley, Andrew shared a message for fans who obsess over his character to this day.

The 47-year-olf Fleabag actor got candid for British GQ‘s December/January Men of the Year special issue, out on newsstands on November 28.

During the conversation, Andrew revealed his thoughts on the ending of Fleabag and reflected on grappling with his sexuality in his teenage years.

Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge & Andrew Scott Will Reunite Again On Screen!

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is set to reunite with Fleabag co-star Andrew Scott for a TV project!

Andrew stars in the HBO series His Dark Materials and he just announced that Phoebe will guest star in season two in a voice role.

Phoebe will be playing his character John Parry’s osprey dæmon Sayan Kötör. Deadline reports that in the world of His Dark Materials, “the bond between person and dæmon is sacred, with the animal representing a physical manifestation of a human soul.”

Andrew says, “What’s beautiful to me about the books is the relationship with the dæmons and, I think this is the first time we are revealing this, but my dæmon is going to be played by someone who is very close to me in my real life: a young performer and writer called Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The relationship is all about companionship, friendship, and loyalty and that’s what I feel about Phoebe in my real life so it’s wonderful that this is happening.”

Season two is expected to premiere later this year.

The Worlds of 'Normal People' & 'Fleabag' Just Collided in an Amazing Sketch!

Fans are freaking out after seeing the stars of Normal People and Fleabag get together!

Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones, the breakout stars of the Hulu series Normal People, met up with Fleabag‘s Andrew Scott this week… all for an amazing cause.

The three actors filmed a segment for Ireland’s RTÉ Does Comic Relief. In the sketch, Connell (Mescal) and Marianne (Edgar-Jones) go to confession with the Hot Priest (Scott).

“Well this happened! @daisyedgarjones and Andrew are absolute legends. In the hands of Lenny and @suziecine, what is life ❤️. Thank you to element and @emeraoshea. Please, please please donate,” Paul wrote on Instagram.

Phoebe Waller Bridge's 'Fleabag' Play Will Stream on Amazon

Get ready for more Fleabag!

A recording of Phoebe Waller-Bridge‘s one-woman play that inspired the award-winning series will be hitting Amazon for fans to rent, with proceeds going to raise money for charities fighting the worldwide health pandemic.

Starting on Friday, April 10, for two weeks the Fleabag play will be available for a 48-hour download period on Amazon Prime Video in the United States and United Kingdom with proceeds going to The National Emergencies Trust (NET), NHS Charities Together, and Acting For Others.

There is also the Fleabag Support Fund, which will be distributing £2500 grants to U.K. theater freelancers affected by the crisis. Additional recipients in the U.S. will be announced later this week.

“I hope this filmed performance of Fleabag can help raise money while providing a little theatrical entertainment in these isolated times,” Phoebe said in a statement via EW. “Thank you to all our partners and to the creative team who have waived their royalties from this production to raise money for such vital causes in this unbelievably challenging situation. All money raised will support the people throughout our society who are fighting for us on the frontlines and those financially devastated by the crisis, including those in the theatre community. Thank you in advance to those who donate. Now go get into bed with Fleabag! It’s for charity!”

Phoebe Waller-Bridge Ends 'Fleabag' Journey with a Win at SAG Awards 2020!

Phoebe Waller-Bridge appears on stage while accepting her award at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday (January 19) at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

The 34-year-old actress won for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her work in the show Fleabag.

The cast was also nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and Andrew Scott was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series. Other cast members in attendance included Sian Clifford, Brett Gelman, and Bill Paterson.

“The Fleabag team go back home tomorrow to the U.K…. I have to say from the bottom of my heart thank you for being so supportive of this show on these shores,” Phoebe said. “This whole thing really has been a dream. If I wake up tomorrow and I discover it was just that, then thank you, it has been the most beautiful dream.”

This is the end of the Fleabag journey as there will be no more seasons and this is the final awards show of the season for television.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge Reveals Jennifer Lopez Inspired 'Fleabag' During Critics' Choice Speech

Fleabag was a big winner at the 2020 Critics’ Choice Awards and star/creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge revealed something interesting during a speech!

The 34-year-old actress revealed the inspiration for the show’s second season while accepting Best Comedy Series at the event on Sunday (January 12) at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.

Phoebe said that Jennifer Lopez was the inspiration for the show’s second season and that the Hot Priest’s favorite song was “Jenny From the Block.”

Jennifer was also at the event as a nominee for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Hustlers.

During the event, Phoebe won the award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series and Andrew Scott won Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
