The album will be released on June 29, and “Hunger” is the first official single. It was released alongside a music video directed by A.G. Rojas.

“This song is about the ways we look for love in things that are perhaps not love, and how attempts to feel less alone can sometimes isolate us more. I guess I made myself more vulnerable in this song to encourage connection, because perhaps a lot more of us feel this way than we are able to admit. Sometimes when you can’t say it, you can sing it,” Florence explains.

“Sometimes when you are performing you get so high, it’s hard to know how to come down. There is this feeling of being cracked open, rushing endlessly outwards and upwards, and wanting somebody to hold you still, bring you back to yourself. It’s an incredible, celestial, but somehow lonely feeling,” Florence said of the song.

The accompanying music video was directed by AG Rojas. Watch below!

Florence + the Machine Drops 'Wish That You Were Here' From 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' - Stream & Lyrics!

Florence + The Machine has released their brand new song “Wish That You Were Here” and you can stream it right here!

The track is set to be featured on the upcoming soundtrack to Tim Burton‘s dark fantasy adventure film Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, which is expected to hit theaters on September 30th.

‘Wish That You Were Here’ is about the idea that love is a journey and a risk,” Florence said in a statement. “Having been on tour, I’ve lived in a sort of magical time bubble, where the days almost blend together. It’s amazing, but it comes at a cost – a cost of leaving the people you love behind for a year or two. You kind of feel like if you could sing a song into the wind, maybe the wind could take it to them in a way that you can’t with a text or a call. You just want to send your love in a different way, in a way to somehow reach the unreachable.”

Florence + the Machine Drops Three Songs for 'Final Fantasy XV' Soundtrack!

Florence + the Machine recorded three new songs for the video game Final Fantasy XV‘s soundtrack and you can listen to them right here!

“I’ve always seen Final Fantasy as a beautiful and creative game so I don’t think I could have worked with another video game,” Florence said in a statement. “It wouldn’t have made sense.”

“In some ways the landscape of Final Fantasy XV and my own internal landscape seemed to fit quite well, it’s mythical and beautiful and epic,” she continued. “I was listening to Classic FM and there was a whole 2 hour program about classical music in videogames. It was so inspiring and a whole scope of music that I didn’t know about. It was really fascinating, the music was incredibly beautiful and emotional and I took it as a sort of sign, to see what I can do in this medium.”
