Frank Ocean‘s producer, Malay Ho, who produced 2012′s Channel Orange, did a Reddit AMA and responded to delays in his new album Boys Don’t Cry.
“First of all we all massively appreciate and love you guys, Frank has told me this himself many times,” Malaywrote. “To be fair, art cannot be rushed. It’s about making sure the perfect aesthetic for the situation has been reached, to do that, takes constant tweaking, trial and error… That goes for any creative [situation].”
Frank‘s new album was expected hit Apple Music on August 5, but the album has yet to be released.
One computer science and engineering student at UC-Davis, Shahzeb Khan, created a solution for those of you anxiously awaiting the release.
Shahzeb created a (650)82OCEAN service, which will text you when the album is available!
“I’m home for the summer and like everyone else I’m a huge Frank Ocean fan and I’ve been anticipating the album and checking up on blogs and websites constantly and there’s been radio silence. I just got tired of refreshing my browsers all day,” he told Billboard. “The second it detects that a new album has gone live, it will automatically send everyone a text with the link for the album.”
The images and video were shot by photographer and filmmaker Tyrone Lebon.
