Frank Ocean Calls Taylor Swift's Grammy Win Over Kendrick Lamar 'Faulty' In New Open Letter

Frank Ocean is calling out Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich and show writer David Wild in a new open letter posted to his Tumblr account.

The 29-year-old singer, who will not be attending tonight’s ceremony, cites Taylor Swift‘s 2016 win over Kendrick Lamar for Album of the Year as “hands down one of the most ‘faulty’ TV moments I’ve seen.”

This was in response to Ken telling Rolling Stone about Frank‘s 2013 performance, “We executed his vision knowing that it was faulty. And we tried to tell him that, we tried to tell his management that, we tried to tell the record label that. So, his feelings about the Grammys right now, I would imagine, probably go back to that in one way. But honestly, it wasn’t us.”

“Yea yea, my 2013 performance at the Grammys was absolute sh-t,” Frank wrote. Technical difficulties, blah blah. Thanks for the reminder. Very much appreciated. F-ck that performance, though. You think that’s why I kept my work out of the Grammys process this year? Don’t you think I would’ve wanted to play the show to ‘redeem’ myself if I felt that way?”

Frank Ocean's Dad Is Suing Him for $14.5 Million

Frank Ocean‘s father Calvin Cooksey is suing him for defamation after the singer claimed that his dad once used a homophobic slur years ago.

The 29-year-old singer made a statement on his Tumblr page last year following the Orlando nightclub shooting and recalled an experience he had with his dad as a child.

“I was 6 years old when I heard my dad call our transgender waitress a f****t as he dragged me out of a neighborhood diner saying we wouldn’t be served because she was dirty,” the Tumblr post read.

Calvin says that the claim is not true and it has hurt his opportunities to pursue film and music jobs, according to TMZ. He is asking for $14.5 million in damages.

Back in 2014, Calvin sued Russell Simmons for $142 million for claiming he was a deadbeat dad.
