Frank Ocean: 'No Criminal Charges' Against Chris Brown

Frank Ocean has decided not to press criminal charges against Chris Brown after their recording studio fight.

The 25-year-old rapper wrote on his Tumblr, “as a child i thought if someone jumped me it would result in me murdering or mutilating a man. but as a man i am not a killer. i’m an artist and a modern person. i’ll choose sanity. no criminal charges. no civil lawsuit. forgiveness, albeit difficult, is wisdom. peace, albeit trite, is what i want in my short life. peace.”

WHAT DO YOU THINK of Frank Ocean’s decision to not press charges against Chris Brown?

Chris Brown & Frank Ocean Fight at Recording Studio?

Chris Brown was reportedly involved in a fight with Frank Ocean at a recording studio on Sunday (January 27) in West Hollywood, Calif.

Chris, 23, was at Westlake Studio listening to one of his artists and as he headed out, Frank and his crew prevented him from leaving, according to TMZ.

“There were 6 people involved in the fight, the altercation allegedly led to Chris punching the victim,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement released early this morning (January 28).

“Got jumped by Chris and a couple guys. lol,” Frank wrote on his Twitter account. “I only wish everest was there.”

“Cops say they will continue to investigate and want to speak with Chris. They refer to Frank as ‘the victim’ because he’s the one who stuck around and spoke with police.”

Chris truly isn’t looking for a fight but seems Frank wanted a little media attention. It’s easy to just assume Chris started this but it’s absolutely not the case,” Chris‘ rep tells JustJared.com.

Frank Ocean: 'I'm Not Trying To Sell You Sex'

Frank Ocean poses for a photo spread in GQ‘s December 2012 issue, on newsstands now.

Here is what the 25-year-old singer had to share with the mag:

On if he considers himself bisexual: “I’m not a centerfold. I’m not trying to sell you sex. People should pay attention to that in the letter: I didn’t need to label it for it to have impact. Because people realize everything that I say is so relatable, because when you’re talking about romantic love, both sides in all scenarios feel the same shit. As a writer, as a creator, I’m giving you my experiences. But just take what I give you. You ain’t got to pry beyond that. I’m giving you what I feel like you can feel. The other sh-t, you can’t feel. You can’t feel a box. You can’t feel a label.”

On posting his coming out letter: “The night I posted it, I cried like a f–king baby. It was like all the frequency just clicked to a change in my head. All the receptors were now receiving a different signal, and I was happy. I hadn’t been happy in so long. I’ve been sad again since, but it’s a totally different take on sad. There’s just some magic in truth and honesty and openness.”

On if he worried the letter would derail his career: “I had those fears. In black music, we’ve got so many leaps and bounds to make with acceptance and tolerance in regard to that issue. It reflects something just ingrained, you know. When I was growing up, there was nobody in my family—not even my mother—who I could look to and be like, “I know you’ve never said anything homophobic.” So, you know, you worry about people in the business
who you’ve heard talk that way.”
