The Alphabet series is meant to highlight twenty-six of this year’s most influential faces. It was originally conceptualized years ago, and the mag has just now revisited it for the 100th issue.

Empire‘s Gabourey Sidibe and Terrence Howard present the show’s executive producer Lee Daniels with an award on stage during the 2016 BET Honors held at the Warner Theatre on Sunday (March 5) in Washington, D.C.

Also in attendance at the huge event were Jussie Smollett, Usher, Janelle Monae, Mellody Hobson with husband George Lucas, Toni Braxton, Fantasia Barrino, Patti LaBelle, L.A. Reid, and many more.

The honorees that evening included Eric Holder, L.A., Mellody, Lee, and Patti. Huge congrats to all!

Gabourey Sidibe is all smiles while hitting the red carpet at the premiere of her new film The Brothers Grimsby held at the Odeon Leicester Square on Monday (February 22) in London, England.

The 32-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-stars Annabelle Wallis, Mark Strong and his wife Liza Marshall.

That same day, Gabourey was spotted arriving at the BBC Radio 1 Studios to promote the flick, which hits theaters on March 11th!

“I would hope for more diversity in the years to come. I’m sure there will be, there was enough noise this year with talk of boycotting,” Gabourey told the BBC, referring to the 2016 Oscars controversy. “I think a lot of people are boycotting, I’m not boycotting but I’m also just not going. I’m just looking forward to more diversity in the years to come. Obviously there needs to be more diversity in who gets nominated, who gets to play, and who gets to vote. I think that’s the key, you can’t change one without addressing the other.”

Terrence Howard looks triumphant while accepting an award at the 2016 NAACP Image Awards held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Friday night (February 5) in Pasadena, Calif.

The 46-year-old actor was joined at the award ceremony by his Empire co-stars Taraji P. Henson, Bryshere Y. Gray, Jussie Smollett, Gabourey Sidibe, Trai Byers and Grace Gealey.

The entire cast won big during the show, taking home the award for Outstanding Drama Series. Terrence also took home the award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series while Taraji took home Outstanding Actress.

The show also took home awards for their original music and Jussie even took to the stage to perform!

The 35-year-old actor was joined at the event by his co-star Bruce Dern, as well as Gabourey Sidibe, Sam Rockwell, Piper Perabo, Alan Cumming, Christian Slater, Nico Tortorella, Zachary Levi, Kevin Corrigan, Paul Haggis and Alex Lundqvist, who all came out to show their support.

The Hateful Eight, which is hitting theaters on Christmas Day, will be released with two versions. One was shot on 70 mm film format, has an overture and an intermission, and is displayed exactly how Quentin Tarantino originally intended for its 3 hour 2 minute running time. Taylor Schilling, Uzo Aduba, and Laverne Cox step out on the purple carpet at the opening night of Broadway’s The Color Purple on Thursday (December 10) at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre in New York City.

Other members of the Orange Is the New Black cast in attendance included Yael Stone, Samira Wiley, Kate Mulgrew, Lea DeLaria, and Selenis Leyva. They were all there to support their co-star Danielle Brooks, who is one of the leads in the musical.
