New Brad Pitt 'Babel' Stills

Here are some old and some new stills for the upcoming Brad Pitt drama, which tells interwoven stories surrounding a gunshot. Set in Morocco, Tunisia, Mexico and Japan, Babel opens in limited release on October 27. Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and co-stars Cate Banchett and Gael Garcia Bernal. UPDATE :: Donald Trump gave Brad Pitt a nod in his latest blog entry, “Brad Pitt and Marriage“:

I know a lot of men who are perfectly happy being single. They have every excuse in the world why they’re not ready to get married.

I thought I had heard everything until I read why Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie say they won’t be tying the knot anytime soon.

In an interview in the current issue of Esquire magazine, Brad said he and Angelina won’t consider getting married until – quote – “everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able.”

Obviously, Brad is trying to be a social activist and make a point about dropping the restrictions on who is allowed to get married and who isn’t in this country. Or at least that’s what he wants people to think. Maybe he’s just come up with an excellent way to stay a bachelor.

It makes him look really concerned about the plight of other people. Yet at the same time, he doesn’t have to get married. This guy is smarter than I thought.

Kate Beckinsale on Jay Leno

  • Excepts from Angelina Jolie‘s interview with Anderson Cooper
    – "You know, because you’re there for the birth, which I wasn’t for my first two kids, you’re just suddenly terrified that they’re not gonna take a first breath."

    – "That was my whole focus. I just wanted to hear her cry."

    – "[Brad] was in the operating room, yeah, yeah.  And we had amazing doctors. And everybody was so lovely."

Babel Movie

When Babel, the latest offering from Alejandro González Iñárritu, premieres at the Cannes Film Festival this month, it will be a remarkable moment for Mexican cinema. Before 2000, when the director’s debut, Amores Perros, took Cannes by storm, Mexican films were rarely seen by international audiences. This year, one of Babel ‘s main competitors for the Palme d’Or will be Pan’s Labyrinth, by González Iñárritu’s compatriot Guillermo del Toro. That two Mexican films are competing for the most prestigious prize in world cinema is a measure of how far the Mexican industry has come in the past six years.

New Babel stills! Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu’s drama Babel, starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett and Gael Garcia Bernal, is currently scheduled to show at Cannes on Tuesday, May 23 and open in limited release on Friday, October 6.  Below is an Entertainment Tonight clip, which contains an intense scene from Babel featuring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.  More pictures in the gallery!
