'Game of Thrones' & More HBO Shows Receive Premiere Dates!

Mark your calendars, Game of Thrones fans – the fifth season is officially debuting on April 12!

According to Deadline, HBO announced the premiere date during a 2015 TCA panel, in addition to that of the network’s comedies Veep and Silicon Valley, which will return the same night.

A new scripted political comedy titled The Brink, starring Jack Black, will premiere in the summer, while Bessie, a biopic starring Queen Latifah as blues singer Bessie Smith, will debut in the spring.

'Game of Thrones' Paves the Way By Hitting Theaters in January

Game of Thrones is hitting the big screen!

The HBO show’s last two episodes from season 4 will be showing at 150 theaters in IMAX format across the U.S. from January 23-29.

In addition to seeing the two episodes, the audience will have a chance to see the trailer for the fifth season, which will premiere in April!

“The cinematic brilliance and grand scope of the series is perfect for the IMAX format,” Pamela Levine, chief marketing officer at HBO, shared in a statement. “We are always looking to provide fans with new and exciting ways to experience the show and viewing two key episodes, along with the new trailer, on such an impressive platform makes for a great event.”

IMAX CEO Richard L. Gelfond added, “IMAX always seeks innovative ways to provide moviegoers a unique and differentiated experience and today’s partnership with HBO and ‘Game of Thrones’ achieves just that. This deal also furthers our efforts to offer exhibitors the opportunity to participate in alternative forms of content in a new and exciting way.”

Queen Elizabeth References 'Game of Thrones' in Christmas Day Message! (Video)

Queen Elizabeth II gave her Christmas Day message as she does every year and there was one moment that stood out on social media – the Game of Thrones reference!

Here is what she said: “The benefits of reconciliation [in Northern Ireland] were clear to see when I visited Belfast in June. While my tour of the set of Game Of Thrones may have gained most attention, my visit to the Crumlin Road Gaol will remain vividly in my mind.

What was once a prison during the Troubles is now a place of hope and fresh purpose; a reminder of what is possible when people reach out to one another, rather like the couple in the sculpture.”

IMDb Reveals Top 10 TV Shows of 2014 List (Exclusive)

A couple days ago we revealed IMDb‘s list of the top movies of the year and now is exclusively revealing the site’s list of the Top 10 TV Shows of 2014!

These are the ten television series of 2014 that were consistently the most popular with IMDb’s users throughout the year (and were in production in 2014) as determined by page views.

Sitting at the top of the list is HBO’s smash hit series Game of Thrones, which wrapped up its fourth season in June with some of the biggest ratings the network has ever seen.

Coming in second and third place this year were two other fan favorite shows – The Walking Dead and American Horror Story.

The Walking Dead‘s Emily Kinney and the star of the number 10 ranked show both filmed acceptance speeches to thank fans for getting their shows on the list. Watch it after the cut!

'Frozen' & 'Game of Thrones' Top Facebook's Most Popular TV & Movies of 2014!

Facebook just released their most popular media of 2014 lists and Frozen has taken the top spot in movies, with Game of Thrones taking the top spot for television!

Orange is the New Black, True Detective, Sons of Anarchy, American Horror Story, Scandal, and more television shows made the list, with Guardians of the Galaxy, Gone Girl, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 on the list for movies!

Meanwhile, Tumblr just released their list as well, with the top most reblogged movies and filmmakers – and Frozen topped that list as well!

New 'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Footage Revealed - Watch Now!

We have a lot to give thanks for this year – and one reason is because HBO just released a short teaser from season five of Game of Thrones!

“I see a darkness in you,” a voiceover says as Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams) can be seen for a split second among other images.

“Follow the Three Eyed Raven. Gain the power of #TheSight:” the Game of Thrones Twitter account tweeted out, along with the clip. The site seems to be some sort of viral site that you can sign up for!

Season five of Game of Thrones is expected to be back in the Spring.
