Meryl Streep's Upcoming Movie to Be Released on HBO Max

Meryl Streep is currently shooting a new movie directed by Steven Soderbergh and it was just announced that the film will be released on the upcoming streaming service HBO Max.

The film, which has a working title of Let Them All Talk, is an upcoming comedy starring Meryl, Gemma Chan, Lucas Hedges, Dianne Wiest, and Candice Bergen.

Soderbergh began principal photography on the movie last week in New York City. THR reports that the story “centers on a celebrated author (Streep) who takes a journey on a cruise ship with some old friends (Bergen, Wiest) to have some fun and heal old wounds. Her nephew (Hedges) comes along to wrangle the ladies and finds himself involved with a young literary agent (Chan).”

HBO Max will launch in spring 2020 and will be the new streaming home of Friends.

Gemma Chan In Talks for 'The Eternals,' Possibly Playing Her Second Marvel Character

Gemma Chan is in talks to join the cast of the upcoming Marvel movie The Eternals, but there’s a twist.

The 36-year-old Crazy Rich Asians actress previoulsy played Minn-Erva in this year’s hit film Captain Marvel, but she might not be reprising that role, according to Variety.

Gemma is in talks for a “completely different role” and this would mark one of the only times an actor has played two different characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This has not yet been confirmed though.

Laura Haddock previously played an “autograph seeker” in Captain America: The First Avenger and then went on to play Meredith Quill in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek are leading the cast of the upcoming Marvel movie, which will be directed by Chloe Zhao.

Meghan Markle Is the First-Ever Guest Editor of British Vogue's September Issue!

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (AKA Meghan Markle) is taking on a new role – as the guest editor of British Vogue‘s highly coveted September issue, out on newsstands on August 2.

Editor-in-chief Edward Enninful revealed that the Duchess is the first person to guest-edit the September Issue of British Vogue.

“To have the country’s most influential beacon of change guest edit British Vogue at this time has been an honour, a pleasure and a wonderful surprise. As you will see from her selections throughout this magazine, she is also willing to wade into more complex and nuanced areas, whether they concern female empowerment, mental health, race or privilege. From the very beginning, we talked about the cover – whether she would be on it or not. In the end, she felt that it would be in some ways a ‘boastful’ thing to do for this particular project. She wanted, instead, to focus on the women she admires,” he explained.

The women Meghan selected to appear on the cover are: Adwoa Aboah, Adut Akech, Ramla Ali, Jacinda Ardern, Sinead Burke, Gemma Chan, Laverne Cox, Jane Fonda, Salma Hayek Pinault, Francesca Hayward, Jameela Jamil, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Yara Shahidi, Greta Thunberg, Christy Turlington Burns – and you, the reader, represented by a mirror.

“Guest Editing the September issue of British Vogue has been rewarding, educational and inspiring. To deep dive into this process, working quietly behind the scenes for so many months, I am happy to now be able to share what we have created. A huge thanks to all of the friends who supported me in this endeavour, lending their time and energy to help within these pages and on the cover. Thank you for saying ‘Yes!’- and to Edward, thank you for this wonderful opportunity,” Meghan said on her Instagram.

Gemma Chan's 'Humans' Canceled After Three Seasons

Gemma Chan‘s AMC series Humans has been canceled after three seasons.

The show, which also aired the UK’s Channel 4, explored a world of artificially intelligent android servants who could complete almost any human task.

“Sadly there won’t be a 4th season of Humans. In this age of unprecedented choice and competition, we can have no complaints. Channel 4 & AMC were the perfect partners. They supported the show brilliantly and above all — let us make three seasons!” executive producers Jonathan Brackley and Sam Vincent said on Twitter.

They continued, “We know we left some threads hanging. That was the way we always wrote the show. Maybe one day we’ll get a chance to pick them back up. If there’s anyone out there with a few million quid and an interest in AI stories, we’re all ears.”

The show premiered back in 2015 and also starred Manpreet Bachu, Emily Berrington, Ruth Bradley, and Lucy Carless.

Gemma Chan Explains How She's Different From Her 'Crazy Rich Asians' Character Astrid

Gemma Chan is on the cover of #legend‘s May/June 2019 issue, out now.

Here’s what the 36-year-old Crazy Rich Asians star had to say…

On Hong Kong: “I came here in my childhood and I haven’t been back here since then so it’s been a real pleasure to return here with my parents.”

On being a role model: “If I can be someone, just in some way, that young women can look at and feel empowered to do whatever they want to do, that’s enough for me.

On the similarities and differences with her Crazy Rich Asians character Astrid Leong: “I’d say my day to day style as Gemma is much more laid back. I love sneakers, baseball caps, t-shirts, and street wear in general. I’m not always as elegant as the Astrid look but depending on my mood.”

Gemma Chan Clarifies That 'Liked' Tweet About Constance Wu Being 'Mean-Spirited'

Gemma Chan, who worked with Constance Wu on last summer’s smash hit film Crazy Rich Asians, “liked” a tweet from her personal Twitter account that said some unfavorable things about her former co-star.

The tweet (which has now been deleted) read, “Constance Wu’s conduct today comes as no surprise to anyone who has worked with her in recent years. She has a reputation for being rude, petty, mean-spirited, and ungrateful.”

Well, Gemma took to Twitter to clarify that she did not mean to “like” that tweet and it was a total accident.

“Just to clarify – it was an accidental ‘like’. Anyone looking for drama or beef, sorry to disappoint,” Gemma tweeted to her followers.

The “like” came right after Constance was forced to clarify some comments she made amid the renewal of her TV show Fresh Off the Boat.
