Kyle Chandler Joins 'Godzilla' Sequel as Millie Bobby Brown's Dad

Kyle Chandler has officially joined the cast of the upcoming movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters, a sequel to the Warner Bros. reboot released in 2014.

The 51-year-old former Friday Night Lights actor will play the role of Millie Bobby Brown‘s father. His character is said to be a scientist, according to THR.

The upcoming Godzilla sequel is set to hit theaters on March 22, 2019.

Michael Dougherty will direct the film and he co-wrote the script with Zach Shields.

It was a hot year for movies – we saw Chris Pratt break out as a totally hot movie star with his film Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as his hit animated flick The Lego Movie. Jennifer Lawrence was another box office success with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 and X-Men: Days of Future Past, both making the top ten highest grossing films of the year. In fact, Jennifer was recently named the top-grossing actress of the year with her films!

Warner Bros. Announces 'Godzilla 2' Release Date!

Godzilla 2, the sequel to the smash hit Godzilla that came out this past May, just got a release date!

Warner Bros. announced that the film will hit theaters on June 8, 2018, and while no cast has been announced yet, we do have minor details of what to expect.

During 2014 Comic-Con, Legendary CEO Thomas Tull told media that Godzilla take on some of his greatest villains such as Mothra, Rodin and Ghidora. Gareth Edwards is also returning as the director. We can’t wait!

The first Godzilla starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and Bryan Cranston and grossed $491.3 million at the box office.

'Godzilla' Smash Weekend Box Office for Second-Biggest Opening of the Year!

Godzilla made a monstrous debut at the box office, taking the top spot with $93.2 million!

According to THR, the reboot flick starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, and Elizabeth Olsen, surpassed expectations and earned the second biggest opening of the year behind Captain America!

Taking the No. 2 spot was Neighbors, starring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron, which brought in an addition $26 million, for a $91.5 million total so far.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Jamie Foxx, fell 54 percent to take the third spot with a $16.8 million gross.

Rounding out the top five were Jon Hamm‘s Million Dollar Arm and female-centric flick The Other Woman, which brought in $10.5 million and $6.3 million, respectively.
