Rosamund Pike Was Wearing a Full Bug Mask When She Found Out She Booked 'Gone Girl' - See the Hilarious Pic!

Rosamund Pike makes her entrance onto the stage for her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday evening (September 25) in New York City.

The 35-year-old pregnant actress discussed the moments before finding out she booked the coveted role of Amy Dunne in Gone Girl.

“[Scotland] is plagued with a biting insect called the Scottish Midge….any part of your skin that is exposed, they will cover and eat you alive. You have to wear a sort of highland version of fencing gear,” Rosamund said as she explained what she was wearing while waiting to hear from David Fincher about the role.

Well, she obviously got the role – and there’s a photo of her in a full face mask to keep the Midges away while celebrating getting the part. LOL!

'Gone Girl' Movie Ending Remains Unchanged, Critics Confirm

While initial reports said the ending for the moving Gone Girl would be different than the book, the first reviews from critics confirm that the ending has gone unchanged.

Ben [Affleck] was so shocked by it,” author Gillian Flynn previously told EW of the screenplay she wrote. “He would say, ‘This is a whole new third act! She literally threw that third act out and started from scratch.’”

Well, looks like Gillian was either trying to throw us for a loop or a different screenplay was used!

“Despite published reports that major plot changes were being made, particularly in the third act, this simply isn’t true; it’s an extremely faithful adaptation of what is ultimately a withering critique of the dynamics of marriage,” THR film critic Todd McCarthy wrote in his review.

Critics for Variety and The New York Times also said the movie is extremely faithful to the book. We sure can’t wait to see it!

Gone Girl's Rosamund Pike Talks Being Pregnant During Magazine Photo Shoots

Rosamund Pike shows off her glowing smile on the cover of Glamour magazine‘s October 2014 issue, on newsstands September 16.

Here is what the 35-year-old Gone Girl actress had to share with the mag:

On sex scenes with Neil Patrick Harris: “Neil [who plays Amy’s obsessed ex Desi] was incredible at that. We were in hysterics in the editing room. It was very funny doing [rehearsals for our sex] scene. David left Neil and me alone on that set for like two hours to make sure we could do it. But when it’s just two of you, basically kind of f–king on a bed, it feels so inappropriate.”

On shooting magazine covers while pregnant: “A lot of girls who are high-profile in Hollywood—they’ve been doing cover stories for big magazines since they were in their early twenties. And I haven’t. I feel quite nervous about it! And having to do cover shoots while pregnant. You’re like, ‘Well, I’m pregnant. So, you know, I haven’t really got a waist anymore.’ I don’t enjoy the pregnancy bit of having big boobs, really.”

On doing kids and career all at once: “The question is really why do so many women’s careers take off just as they have children? Is it because you are risking everything in your relationship and the risk taker in you carries through into your professional life? You have less time to worry and overanalyze—maybe that’s it. Or the huntress instinct to provide for your family is awoken. [Either way,] with children you spend so much time reexperiencing the world as a child experiences it, and that has a nourishing effect on your imagination—in my job, imagination is key.”

Gone Girl's Rosamund Pike Wipes Makeup Off Her Face for Second 'W' Magazine Cover

Rosamund Pike wipes her makeup off in this striking new image for her dual W Magazine cover for the May 2014 issue, on newsstands April 21.

The 35-year-old Gone Girl actress was photographed by her director David Fincher for the cover shot, just as he previously had done for the movie’s feature in Entertainment Weekly back in January.

In the issue, Rosamund talks about how she accidentally deleted the text message from David in which he told her she got the part.

“The only evidence I have that I got the call to play Amy is a selfie of me jumping in the rain in the Highlands. I look both happy and thoroughly daunted—the whole ‘You got the best gig in years’ scenario gives me the creeps,” Rosamund said. “But then again, I’m a very hard worker, and maybe people who have underestimated me or just thought I looked good will say they were wrong.”

Make sure to check out Rosamund on the other cover of W Magazine as well!
