Is Julianna Margulies Leaving 'The Good Wife' After Season 7?

Julianna Margulies seems to have confirmed that she might leave The Good Wife after the current seventh season.

The fate of the series has been in question as showrunners Robert and Michelle King announced they will be leaving after this season, so if Julianna leaves the show, it’s very possible it will be canceled by CBS.

Julianna showed up to the Casting Society of America’s Artios Awards on Thursday night to support the Kings, who were being honored with a special award.

“I surprised Robert and Michelle tonight,” Julianna said (via Vulture). “They didn’t know I was going to be here. They think I’m here for them, but I’m unemployed come April, and I think you haven’t seen me in a while, at least not in person, so I thought I should show up.”

Julianna Margulies Denies 'Good Wife' Feud with Archie Panjabi

Julianna Margulies is opening up about the reports of a feud between her and The Good Wife co-star Archie Panjabi.

Rumors had been swirling over the years about the feud after the Emmy-winning actresses didn’t share a scene for several seasons. The final scene between the co-stars added fuel to the fire after it was revealed they didn’t film it together.

“Right, I’ve heard about [the feud]. Who says that? It’s totally gossip,” Julianna said (via Vulture). “I heard that question had been asked to Robert King. There’s no story there, sorry … I actually had heard [that rumor] and I feel that it has been talked about and answered. I feel people just like to have gossip or make something into something that isn’t there. There’s no animosity on my part. It’s a shame, because I wonder if it was two men, when one finds out that he f–ked his best friend’s wife, if it would get that same attention, you know what I mean?”

Julianna also opened up about why she didn’t film the final scene alongside Archie.

“It was shot the way Robert [King] wanted to shoot it, and the story line, too,” she said. “You also have to remember, there’s difficulty … [Panjabi] was also doing another show, called The Fall. I went along with whatever Robert asked me to do and I did it happily.”

Archie Panjabi's 'Good Wife' Exit: Kalinda & Alicia Say Goodbye (Video)

SPOILER ALERT! Do not continue reading if you have not watched the season finale of The Good Wife yet.

The season six finale of The Good Wife aired and featured a long awaited scene between Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) and Alicia (Julianna Margulies). It has been more than fifty episodes since the two were featured in a scene together!

This was Archie‘s final appearance on the show, and it ended with their scene. Read the dialogue below.

Kalinda: “My time with you as your friend was the best I ever had, and I’m sorry. I’m really sorry that things got messed up.”
Alicia: “I wish we had the chance to do it over again,”
Kalinda: “I have to go.”
Alicia: “I’ll never see you again?”
Kalinda: “I don’t think so.”
Alicia: “That’s too bad.”
Kalinda: “I, um [nods], goodbye.”
Alicia: “Bye.”

Fans were so curious as to why Alicia and Kalinda did not have more scenes together.

“I think that’s a question you need to ask the producers,” Archie told EW about the lack of scenes between the two characters. “What is great is that relationship between the two women is one of the best relationships on TV, in terms of it being the most honest. Hopefully, you may see something of that before I leave.”

Archie Panjabi Leaving 'The Good Wife' For Development Deal with 20th Century Fox

The Good Wife‘s Archie Panjabi will be leaving the show after this season because she signed a development/holding deal with 20th Century Fox Television, THR reports.

Archie is an Emmy Award-winning dramatic actress, and rightly so. Her work on The Good Wife has been extraordinary, and the time has come for her to star in a project of her own,” 20th exec vp casting Sharon Klein said in a statement. “We couldn’t be happier that it will be with us.”

Archie is an amazing actress who helped build Kalinda from the ground up as an enigmatic, powerful and sexy character. It’s been a pleasure to write for her, and we’ll be sad to see her go; but we still have her for the rest of season six, so let’s not exhaust our goodbyes yet,” Robert and Michelle King, The Good Wife show runners, said in a statement. “We look forward to meeting all the wonderful new characters Archie brings to the screen. But either way, we’re keeping the boots.”

Emmy Nomination Snubs 2014 - 'Orphan Black,' 'Walking Dead,' & More Left Off the List

The 2014 Emmy Awards nominations were announced today, but some fans aren’t too happy that their favorite shows were left off of the list!

Orphan Black was one of the shows to be completely left off of the list. The leading lady of the show, Tatiana Maslany, was snubbed for sure, and fans of the show had #EmmyForMaslany trending on social media. The official Twitter account for the show even offered a hilarious GIF after news broke – see below.

While The Good Wife did receive a nom for it’s star Julianna Margulies, a Best Drama nomination was forgotten completely! Also left off the list was The Walking Dead which also received zero nominations.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine was also noticeably left off the lists – especially a nomination for Andy Samberg, who won the Golden Globe last year! Fans of The Americans and Sons of Anarchy are also buzzing about their shows’ lack of love.
