Sam Heughan Is Not a Fan of His Long Makeup Sessions

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe pair up on the carpet at the mid-season premiere of their hit Starz series Outlander on Wednesday (April 1) at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City.

The actors were joined by co-stars Lotte Verbeek, Tobias Menzies, and Graham McTavish, as well as creator Ronald D. Moore.

Sam recently chatted with the New York Daily News about having to sit through long makeup sessions for the show.

“It’s ridiculous,” he said. “I’ll get into makeup at 4 a.m. and be there until 8 or 9. And you have to be standing for most of it. But there was a lot of makeup time on Game of Thrones, too, and fortunately the makeup team and I get on well. We play music. I also know a lot about prosthetics.”

FYI: Sam is wearing Hugo Boss. Caitriona is wearing a Roland Mouret dress, Burberry shoes, a Halston Heritage clutch, and jewelry by Dana Rebecca Designs, Porter Lyons, and Graziela Gems. Lotte is wearing an Elizabeth and James dress.

Evangeline Lilly Says She Doesn't Like the Word Feminism

Evangeline Lilly meets up with co-star Lee Pace on the red carpet at the premiere of their movie The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies on Tuesday evening (December 9) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Also in attendance at the event were co-stars Richard Armitage, Manu Bennett, Dean O’Gorman, and Graham McTavish.

Evangeline recently talked to the Huffington Post and said that while she loves playing “kick-ass chicks,” she doesn’t want to compromise her womanhood.

“I’m very proud of being a woman, and as a woman, I don’t even like the word feminism because when I hear that word, I associate it with women trying to pretend to be men, and I’m not interested in trying to pretend to be a man,” Evangeline said. “I don’t want to embrace manhood, I want to embrace my womanhood.”

FYI: Evangeline is wearing an Alberta Ferretti gown, an Edie Parker clutch, and an Atelier Swarovski ring and ear cuff. Lee is wearing Suit Supply.
