Carey Mulligan is the lady in red while hitting the carpet at the premiere of The Great Gatsby on Wednesday (May 1) at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.

The 27-year-old actress was dressed in black and white earlier in the day while making an appearance on Good Morning America.

“The Kardashians are sort of a reference in that Daisy’s purpose in life is�”she feels her purpose is to look very beautiful all the time and to constantly be on show,” Carey told Harper’s Bazaar about her inspiration for her character. “So what I was trying to imply was that there’s an essence of part of the amazing business they run as the Kardashians is looking beautiful a lot and looking very present, presentational and perfect.”

FYI: Carey is wearing a Lanvin dress, Brian Atwood shoes, and Tiffany & Co. earrings and ring. She is wearing a Lanvin blazer, top, and trousers with Christian Louboutin shoes at GMA.

Leonardo DiCaprio suits up on the red carpet at the premiere of his film The Great Gatsby on Wednesday (May 1) at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.

The 38-year-old actor recently chatted with MTV about the importance of the music in his film.

“The last two films that I’ve done have been period pieces infused with hip-hop,” Leo said. “So it’s really cool that these directors take that chance, and I think it really connects with audiences today.

“I think it sort of seamlessly meshes into the film in a way that’s almost startling,” he added. “You don’t feel like you’re watching something from a different era. You’re connecting with these people and this time period in a much more subversive way.”

Later in the evening, Leo was the first to arrive at the after party, where he sipped on Moet & Chandon champagne to celebrate.

FYI: Leo is wearing a Prada suit, tie, shirt, and shoes.

Carey Mulligan dons a little black dress while attending the Gatsby Exhibition Opening Cocktail Party on Tuesday (April 30) in New York City.

The 27-year-old English actress was joined by her The Great Gatsby co-star Tobey Maguire, who brought his wife Jennifer Meyer.

Maggie Gyllenhaal was also spotted brightening the party with a white dress.

The exhibition centers around selected costumes designed by Miuccia Prada and costume designer Catherine Martin and includes sketches, production stills, and backstage footage for The Great Gatsby.

DJ/producer Mark Ronson, who co-wrote the original song, premiered the track, featuring Beyonce‘s vocals, during his East Village Radio mixshow.

The song is reportedly written through the perspective of one of the main characters Daisy Buchanan, played in the upcoming film by Carey Mulligan, according to GQ.
