Ryan Gosling is speaking out about being Kenough!

The 43-year-old Academy Award-nominated Barbie actor got candid in a new interview with Variety, out now.

During the conversation, Ryan addressed playing the nominated role, whether he’ll sing “I’m Just Ken” at the 2024 Oscars, Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig‘s nomination snubs, why he initially passed on the role, and much more.

Actors are speaking out after Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie did not receive Oscar nominations for Best Director and Best Actress, respectively.

The 40-year-old director and the 33-year-old actress were expected to be recognized for their work on their hit Barbie film.

However, they were only acknowledged in the Best Picture category. Their costars, Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera, were nominated for their supporting roles.

Since the nominations were announced on Friday (January 23), lots of celebrities have reacted to the surprising Barbie-related results.

While several celebrities are disappointed about the “snubs,” others don’t see an issue with the nominations the way they are.

Ryan and America are among the actors who have been vocal so far.

Ryan Gosling has shared a lengthy statement in response to his Oscar nomination for Barbie and the snubs for Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig.

While both Margot and Greta actually DID receive Oscar nominations, they were both snubbed in the categories where they were most deserving.

Ryan received a Best Supporting Actor nomination for playing Ken, Margot received a Best Picture nomination for producing the movie, and Greta received a Best Adapted Screenplay nomination for writing the film.

America Ferrera is speaking out about her co-workers from the Barbie movie.

Earlier in the day, America received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her work in the film. However, the film’s director, Greta Gerwig, and producer and lead actress Margot Robbie, were shut out from the Best Director and Best Actress nominations.

The 39-year-old star spoke out in an interview with Deadline about the nominations, which had her “a little bit in shock.”

America Ferrera and husband Ryan Piers Williams hit the red carpet at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards on Sunday (January 14) at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 39-year-old actress and the 42-year-old actor also play husband and wife in the Barbie movie!

Speaking of, their on-screen daughter Ariana Greenblatt and director Greta Gerwig were seen arriving for the awards show.

America will be receiving the SeeHer Award, which “honors a woman who advocates for gender equality, portrays characters with authenticity, defies stereotypes and pushes boundaries.” Her Barbie co-star Margot Robbie is set to present her with the award.

Barbie is also the most nominated film at the awards show, with nominations including Best Picture, Best Actress for Margot, Best Supporting Actress for America, Best Supporting Actor for Ryan Gosling, Best Young Actor/Actress for Ariana, Best Acting Ensemble, and Best Original Screenplay and Best Director for Greta, among others.
