Hawaii Five-0's Ian Anthony Dale Teases One Storyline That Won't Be Wrapped Up In the Series Finale

We’re three days out from the series finale of Hawaii Five-0 and star Ian Anthony Dale is opening up about what we actually won’t see on the final episode.

Speaking with E! and reflecting on his time on the long-running CBS series, Ian revealed the one storyline that won’t be resolved and that’s Adam’s relationship with McGarrett.

“Throughout the series, Adam and McGarrett developed a really strong bond built on mutual respect and trust,” Ian shared of his character and Alex McLouglin‘s. “Some of the more troubling decisions Adam made in the final season really placed his and McGarrett’s relationship in jeopardy.”

But it looks like we won’t see a resolve to that.

“By the series end, there is still friction between them, and the audience never gets to see them fully reconcile. I really wish we could’ve seen that happen before it was all said and done.”

Ian did share a behind-the-scenes moment from the final day of filming that will speak to Hawaii Five-0 fans.

“The one that stands out to me the most happened on our very last day,” he shared. “We were filming in a residential neighborhood and had the roads blocked off, and at wrap our entire crew spilled out into the street and formed a big circle.”

Ian added that “the mountains [were] in the background and the sun [was] setting in the distance, we all held hands and sang a Hawaiian song, giving thanks to the island and to each other for the many blessings and good fortune our time together has brought us. It was a beautiful and profoundly appropriate way to say goodbye.”

Hawaii Five-0‘s series finale airs Friday, April 3 on CBS.

'Hawaii Five-0' to End After 10 Seasons, Series Finale Will Air in April

CBS has announced that Hawaii Five-0 will end this year after 10 seasons on the air.

Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan have been with the show throughout the entire series and their contracts end with the current season.

Alex suffered a back injury during one of the early seasons and he still is dealing with the pain from that accident. While he felt able to continue through season 10, he decided it was not possible to do additional seasons, according to Deadline.

Instead of finding a new star to replace Alex on the show, CBS decided it was time to end the series.

“This show has been pretty much every waking moment for the last 10 years of my life,” Alex said in a statement. “Everywhere I go on this planet, in every language, I am McGarrett to all these people. What we’ve done, what we’ve accomplished, it’s extraordinary. I can’t really put words to express my level of gratitude. I’m just glad to have been a part of this, a part of history and I’m going to miss it. And to the fans, I don’t know how to thank you guys. Thank you for following us the way you have. I’m going to miss you. Aloha.”

The series finale will be a two-hour episode airing on Friday, April 3.

'Hawaii Five-0' Announces Cast Replacements After Daniel Dae Kim & Grace Park Exit

Hawaii Five-0 has just announced three new regular cast members following the departure of Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park.

The duo announced their departure from the show earlier this year after reported salary equality disputes.

The new cast members include Meaghan Rath, Beulah Koale and Ian Anthony Dale, according to THR.

While Ian has recurred on the show since season two, Beulah and Meaghan are newcomers.

Meaghan is set to play a lifeguard who was kicked out the Police Academy despite being a first-rate candidate while Beulah will play a former Navy SEAL who just returned from serving.

Hawaii Five-0‘s eighth season premieres on September 29th.

Daniel Dae Kim & Grace Park Were Offered 'Unprecedented Raises,' 'Hawaii Five-0' Boss Claims

Peter M. Lenkov, the showrunner of Hawaii Five-O, is opening up about Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park‘s decision to leave the hit series.

Lenkov says that “CBS was extremely generous and proactive in their renegotiation talks. So much so, the actors were getting unprecedented raises, but in the end they chose to move on.”

Peter continued by defending the diversity of the show, listing many of the actors who represented diverse backgrounds throughout the years.

“After being away from her family for seven years, I understood Grace‘s decision to leave. There was an opportunity for her to return for a handful of episodes, but for several reasons that didn’t work out,” Peter added.

Make sure to read what CBS said in a statement about the “significant raises” the actors were offered.

'Hawaii Five-0:' CBS Says It Offered Daniel Dae Kim & Grace Park 'Significant Salary Increases'

CBS is spilling more details after Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park announced they were leaving Hawaii Five-0 ahead of the upcoming eighth season.

Daniel and Grace made the decision when they were reportedly unable to reach salary deals they were satisfied with.

They two were allegedly getting paid 10 to 15 percent less than their co-stars Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan.

Daniel and Grace have been important and valued members of Hawaii Five-0 for seven seasons,” CBS said Wednesday (July 5) in a statement. “We did not want to lose them and tried very hard to keep them with offers for large and significant salary increases. While we could not reach an agreement, we part ways with tremendous respect for their talents on screen, as well as their roles as ambassadors for the show off screen, and with hopes to work with them again in the near future.”

Daniel Dae Kim & Grace Park Are Leaving 'Hawaii Five-0'

Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park are leaving their longtime roles on Hawaii Five-0 and will not appear on the upcoming eighth season.

The actors were looking to be paid equally with stars Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan, but were not able to reach deals they were satisfied with, according to Variety. It is being reported that they earned 10-15% less than the others.

“We are so appreciative of Daniel and Grace‘s enormous talents, professional excellence and the aloha spirit they brought to each and every one of our 168 episodes. They’ve helped us build an exciting new Hawaii Five-0, and we wish them all the best and much success in their next chapters. Mahalo and a hui hou…” a CBS spokesperson said in a statement about the exit.
