Danny DeVito has weighed in on the planned, live action movie of Hercules.
If you don’t know, the 77-year-old actor voiced the character of Philoctetes, aka Phil, who is Hercules’ trainer and advisor, in the original 1997 film.

A live action version of Hercules is officially in the works!
Deadline is reporting that the 1997 movie from Walt Disney Pictures will be the latest outing in their live action adaptations, with Guy Ritchie attached to star.
According to the outlet, the movie will be produced by AGBO, which is run by Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo. The studio is now in the process of hiring writers after Dave Callaham wrote a first draft.
If you’re unfamiliar, the movie centered on Hercules, a son of gods, as he tries to make his way back to Mount Olympus after being snatched as a baby by Hades.
The voice cast featured Tate Donovan, James Woods, Danny DeVito and Susan Egan.
Hercules will join Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, starring Rachel Zegler, as the latest outing in Disney’s animated to live-action movies.
There’s a cast list going around for the upcoming Hercules live-action film, due out in 2022 – but it’s a fake.
Following the report that Disney was developing a live-action remake of the 1997 animated classic, a graphic started circulating this week on social media with some superstars allegedly filling the roles of the characters.

The fake cast list, which was shared by a very popular RuPaul’s Drag Race fan community page while going viral on Twitter, places Noah Centineo as the title character, with Jodie Comer as Megara, Jeff Goldblum as Hades and Helen Mirren as Hera, among other A-list castings.
It’s not real, however, as Disney has made no official casting announcements to date. But that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about how accurate this fake cast list could be!
