The 48-year-old actor was in town this week to promote his movie Logan when he looked out the window at a traffic light to see people in race cars and dressed in costume.

“We’re here waiting for the green light. We’re in Tokyo and who’s gonna…. Oh! It’s Mario Kart!” Hugh said. “Princess Peach! They’re all there… And they’re off!”

Hugh Jackman Thinks Dafne Keen Should Take Over As Next Wolverine!

Hugh Jackman has got a suggestion on which actor should play Wolverine next!

“I think one thing we’ve learned: when X-Men started, it was pretty revolutionary. Like the comic book itself, I think there was an element of breaking conventions, of opening up in the concentration camp with a character, was not what people expected,” the 48-year-old actor expressed in an interview with Collider.

“I think X-Men has always been about asking questions, challenging norms and asking what’s going on,” Hugh added. “I’m not saying we’ve done that always, but I definitely think the spirit of Logan is in a way a reboot of that desire to keep taking risks and to ask more difficult questions, and to go deeper within the characters. In an irreverent way, it’s exactly what Deadpool did too. I think it’s endemic to the character. I think for me, it would make sense to go younger with Logan. I think it would be very difficult – however, there’s a female 11-year-old who could absolutely frickin’ nail it, for my money.”

Hugh is referring to 11-year-old Dafne Keen, who played Laura in Logan: “I was 30 when I got the part, so I think it would be wide open to interpretation,” Hugh concluded. “I think it could be anything. You could go any color, any race, anything. If you look at all the drawings and all the different interpretations from different artists over the years, I think it’s completely open. I think audiences will buy it.”

Hugh Jackman Says He Won't Be Starring in a 'Deadpool' Movie

Sad news for fans who were hoping to see Hugh Jackman reprise his role as Wolverine in an upcoming Deadpool movie!

The 48-year-old Logan actor cleared up any rumors that he might star in Deadpool 2 alongside his former X-Men Origins: Wolverine co-star Ryan Reynolds during a recent interview.

“It’s sorta out of my hands because I’m an actor who’s played Wolverine,” Hugh told Huffington Post. “I’m out. But if I was running the studio and someone else was playing Wolverine…”

“I’m sure that’s something they could pull together,” Logan director James Mangold added. “The reality for me is, I’ve made two Wolverine movies in a row, so you’re talking to a guy who’s actually ready to direct Hugh Jackman in something else.”

When asked what an Avengers-Wolverine movie might look like (Hugh has said he might come back as Wolverine if he got to do that), Hugh laughed, “That would look like a miracle of business. It’s a shame.”

“The films have gotten so damn crowded,” James chimed in. “It would probably look like one of these selfies with the Oscars with everyone just trying to cram into frame. But of course it would be exciting.”

ICYMI, Hugh recently revealed that he didn’t know wolverines were real animals!

Hugh Jackman Didn't Know Wolverines Were Real Animals

Hugh Jackman has revealed that he didn’t know wolverines existed until after he started filming X-Men!

The 48-year-old Logan actor had a funny moment where he learned that wolverines are actually animals that look like small bears but are most closely related to weasels, not fictional wolf-like creatures.

“I literally, embarrassingly did about two weeks of research on wolves,” Hugh told Page Six. “I was rehearsing for three weeks and I was shooting, so I was kind of on my own. I remember going past an IMAX in Toronto, and there was an IMAX documentary about wolves, and so I thought, ‘I’ll go and see that.’”

On the set of X-Men in 2000, director Bryan Singer apparently asked Hugh, “Are you sort of walking funny, what’s going on?”

Hugh continued, “And I said, ‘I’ve been doing this thing with wolves,’ and he goes, ‘You know you’re not a wolf, right?‘”

“I said, ‘Well, there’s no such thing as a wolverine,‘” Hugh shared, to which he was told, “Go to the zoo, dude.”

“I literally didn’t know it existed,” Hugh finished.
