Cate Blanchett, in Armani, joins co-star Hugo Weaving at the opening night of their new play Uncle Vanya at Australia’s Sydney Theatre on Saturday (November 13).
The play was written by Russian playwright Anton Chekhov and adapted by Cate‘s husband Andrew Upton. It’s about a country doctor who loves but cannot have a professor’s wife.

“Good Chekhov is like being at an amazing dinner party, and I’d want to sit at a table with all of those men,” Cate said of her co-stars.

Cate Blanchett and fellow Aussie actor Hugo Weaving reenact a scene from The Matrix at the “Screen Worlds: The story of film, television and digital culture” exhibition at Federation Square on Thursday (September 17) in Melbourne, Australia.
The art show celebrated the moving image with interactive exhibits that chart its past and future. Sounds like fun!!!

Dressed in Lanvin, Portman hugged Susan Sarandon, her co-star in 1999′s Anywhere But Here, on the red carpet and gamely answered questions about the locks she shaved off to play Evey in Vendetta, which opens Friday. In the film, her character joins forces with terrorist V and goes about toppling a corrupt totalitarian British regime. Her shorn tresses may be in a bag, the actress says, but she’s not sure. "I have it somewhere, but I actually don’t know where it is," she adds, laughing. "I should find it. It’s dangerous."
