Ian Somerhalder makes his way through the airport with his luggage on Sunday (January 20) in Washington, D.C.

The 34-year-old actor is in town for the inauguration of President Obama where he is slated to attend the Artists Making an Impact celebration on Monday night (January 21).

“Another plane-this time?” Ian tweeted earlier in the day. “DC bound for inauguration!Ready to freeze for huge gathering of truly bad-ass people.Thank you to all of my bosses for letting me go to Washington!”

Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder arrive at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Wednesday (January 9) in Los Angeles.

The suited up actors looked dapper as they greeted each other backstage. Matt also posed for pictures with gal pal Olivia Munn.

Ian is nominated for the “Favorite TV Drama Actor” category, while Matt‘s hit television series White Collar is up for the “Favorite Cable TV Drama” award!

Ian Somerhalder and his girlfriend Nina Dobrev make their way through LAX Airport to catch a departing flight on Wednesday (December 26) in Los Angeles.

The 34-year-old The Vampire Diaries actor recently tweeted some exciting news at his fans.

“1st 100 to donate/raise at least $50 have a chance to win an iPad Mini signed by me and be my PEN PAL for a week” Ian tweeted, along with a link for info on how to get fundraising!

Meanwhile, Nina tweeted that she’s off to China!

“And I’m at it again… Packing – but this time for CHINA! Leave in the morning and connect a bunch of times. It’s going to be a lot of Travel but its so worth it – I’m so excited !!! Can’t wait! My first time to Asia!” she wrote.

FYI: Ian is wearing a Rogue jacket. Nina is wearing the Rachel Zoe Collection Trish coat and Lucas handbag.

Ian Somerhalder hangs onto his bag as he makes his way through LAX Airport on Saturday (December 8) in Los Angeles.

The 34-year-old actor was on his way back to Atlanta, Ga.

“Shooting till 3am now on a Boeing 777 going to the left coast LaLa for a day of amazing discovery,” Ian tweeted earlier that morning.

That same day, Ian celebrated his birthday. Happy Birthday!!!

Last week, Ian and his girlfriend Nina Dobrev picked out the perfect Christmas tree in Atlanta.

The Vampire Diaries couple pointed out different trees to each other before selecting one – at one point Ian held up some tree to Nina‘s nose for her to smell!

Unfortunately, that same day, Nina was running a fever!

“Still bed ridden. Not feeling too Hott. Well.. Technically I have a fever so I am hot. But you know what I mean….” she tweeted.

The week before, Nina and Ian, along with their Vampire Diaries co-star Claire Holt, took in a performance of TOTEM by Cirque du Soleil at Atlantic Station in Atlanta. Check out the pics of Ian with some of the performers below!
