'Downton Abbey' Movie Begins Filming - First Set Photos!

The Downton Abbey film has started filming and we have the first batch of photos from the set!

The cast – including returning stars Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, and Laura Carmichael, as well as newcomer Imelda Staunton – were seen on Tuesday (September 25) in Bath, England.

They were in their period-piece attire to film a new scene for the movie.

If you don’t know, Maggie and Imelda previously starred in the Harry Potter films together with Maggie as Professor McGonagall and Imelda as Dolores Umbridge.

The movie will be released on September 20, 2019 and the plot is not yet known. Stay tuned as more information is revealed!

Imelda Staunton to Join Husband Jim Carter in 'Downton Abbey' Movie

Imelda Staunton has joined the cast of the upcoming Downton Abbey movie!

The Oscar-nominated actress joins the original principal cast of the television series, which includes her husband Jim Carter as Charles Carson. The couple has been married since 1983.

Principal photography is about to begin on the upcoming movie and it was just announced that more cast additions include Geraldine James, Simon Jones, David Haig, Tuppence Middleton, Kate Phillips, and Stephen Campbell Moore.

The original cast of the TV series is returning for the film, which has a screenplay by series creator Julian Fellowes.

The upcoming Paddington sequel, which hits theaters on January 12, 2018, co-stars Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Brendan Gleeson, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington, as well as Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin and Imelda Staunton.

Here’s a plot summary: while searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s hundredth birthday, Paddington sees a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop, and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief.

The film was again directed by Paul King, and was shot in and around central London.
