Willow Smith is fashion forward while attending the 2013 BET’s Rip The Runway Show at Hammerstein Ballroom on Wednesday (February 27) in New York City.

The 12-year-old entertainer was joined by her older brother Jaden and her mother Jada-Pinkett Smith.

It was recently announced that Jada had invested in a panic alarm app called Bipper, after Willow started using it last year.

“bSafe is a safety service that can easily be used by anyone… I chose it because I saw the potential to solve real problems for kids, parents, and anyone looking to increase their overall safety. I have great confidence in Silje and her team and look forward to working closely with them to increase the reach and impact of an already fantastic security tool,” Jada said in a statement.

Quvenzhane Wallis has been confirmed to play the title role in a remake of the beloved musical Annie!

The nine-year-old actress is nominated for an Oscar for her lead performance in Beasts of the Southern Wild and is the youngest person to ever be nominated in the Best Actress category!

Annie will be produced by Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Jay-Z and directed by Easy A‘s Will Gluck with a screenplay originally written by Emma Thompson. The film will be released in the holiday season of 2014.

“With the recent Academy Award® nomination and critical acclaim, Quvenzhané Wallis is a true star and we believe her portrayal as Annie will make her a true worldwide star. She is an extraordinary young talent with an amazing range, not only as an actress but as a singer and dancer, and we can’t wait for audiences to further discover her,” Sony Pictures’ President of Production Hannah Minghella said in a statement.

Will‘s daughter Willow Smith was originally intended to play the role, but after the project got delayed, she grew out of the role and decided to drop out.

Jada Pinkett Smith hits the red carpet at the closing night of the Pan African film festival’s Free Angela And All Political Prisoners held at the Rave Cinemas on Sunday (February 17) in Los Angeles.

The 41-year-old actress, in Alexander McQueen, was joined on the carpet by the film’s star Angela Davis and director Shola Lynch.

Free Angela & All Policial Prisoners is a documentary that chronicles the life of young college professor Angela Davis, and how her social activism implicates her in a botched kidnapping attempt that ends with a shootout, four dead, and her name on the FBI’s ten most wanted list.

The doc will be released in theaters on April 5 – be sure to check it out!
