James Franco suits up for the world premiere of The Director during the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday (April 21) in New York City.

The 35-year-old actor, who produced the flick, was joined on the red carpet by his director Christina Voros for the event.

The film is a documentary about Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini.

“We were allowed to observe and capture moments in places where a camera had never before been allowed,” Christina told People about the movie.

James Franco heads to his location on the set of True Story on Thursday (April 11) in Brooklyn, NY.

The 34-year-old actor was joined on the New York City set by his co-star Jonah Hill.

True Story is a drama centered around the relationship between journalist Michael Finkel (Hill) and Christian Longo (Franco), an FBI Most Wanted List murderer who for years lived outside the U.S. under Finkel’s name.

Jonah and James also worked together on This is the End, due out in theaters on June 12 of this year – be sure to check it out!

The 34-year-old actor just released a new book, “A California Childhood,” which is being described as a memoir told using personal snapshots, sketches, paintings, poems, and stories.

“I was born in 1978 at Stanford Hospital and spent my first eighteen years in a single house at the end of a cul-de-sac in Palo Alto,” James writes in his introduction.
