The Interview showings are already selling out one day after news broke that theaters would be screening the film with Sony’s permission.
“We’re seeing filmgoers come out in droves,” Christian Parkes, chief branding officer for the Alamo Drafthouse theater chain said (via Variety). “I can’t imagine what the people at Sony have been through. But this is definitely the kind of publicity that you can’t buy. People were going to see the movie anyway but now they are telling us that they believe it’s their patriotic duty.”
In case you missed it, here’s a list of theaters where you can catch the movie this weekend. You can also watch online in the comfort of your own home, however, the film’s star Seth Rogen tweeted, “I need to say that a comedy is best viewed in a theater full of people, so if you can, I’d watch it like that. Or call some friends over.”
