Jared Leto Loses Lawsuit Against TMZ Over Stolen Video Critiquing Taylor Swift

Jared Leto has lost the lawsuit he filed against TMZ and Warner Bros. after a video was posted on the website showing footage of him critiquing Taylor Swift‘s 1989 album last year.

The 44-year-old actor and musician asserted a copyright infringement claim and said that he had hired a videographer to shoot the private footage, which was then sold to TMZ.

TMZ argued that Jared had never owned the video and they had been granted a license to use it by the videographer.

The judge ruled that the video was not made as a work-made-for-hire for Jared and his company as the videographer wasn’t an employee and there was no written agreement about ownership.

Jared Leto Stars in Steamy New Gucci Guilty Ad Campaign (Video)

Jared Leto enjoys a relaxing day at the Malibu Kiwanis Chili Cook-Off on Sunday (September 4) in Malibu, Calif.

The 44-year-old Oscar-winning actor rocked a colorful hoodie with a sequined rose design.

Jared was recently featured in a new ad campaign for the Gucci Guilty fragrance. He was named the face of the fragrance back in December and has been spotted rocking the brand on the red carpet lately as well.

The ad, shot in Italy, features Jared and models Julia Hafstrom and Vera Van Erp exploring Venice.

“We were talking about how much fun it would be if one day you were told that you inherited a villa in Venice from a distant relative and what that would be like,” Jared told Dazed and Confused magazine. “How you could come to a city like this and rediscover or reinvent who you are. One way to think about it is to just ask ‘What if? What are the possibilities here?’”

“I think there is a lot of intrigue here,” he added. “And I am curious to see what people take away from it.”

Margot Robbie Explains Why Jared Leto's Joker Scenes Were Cut From 'Suicide Squad'

Suicide Squad was released earlier this month, and many fans are upset at how little The Joker (Jared Leto) was featured in the film.

Turns out, a lot of Joker scenes were filmed, but ended up being cut. Margot Robbie, who played Harley Quinn, explained why in a new interview with Tipsy Talk.

“They probably realized that the emotional through-line of the story had to be the mission that we were on, and explaining the Enchantress’ position and all that kind of stuff. And the [Harley and Joker] backstory stuff, though it’s magic and some of the stuff we shot was insane, they are flashbacks … so there’s a lot, but it just didn’t make sense to confuse the present storyline to incorporate all that,” Margot said during the interview.

Margot wouldn’t rule out a whole separate movie addressing Harley Quinn and The Joker.

“I’m trying to make that happen,” Margot said. “There’s just so much more to do.”
