Jared Leto Says He's Never Seen 'Suicide Squad': 'I Never Did'

Jared Leto has revealed that he never watched Suicide Squad, the DC Comics film where he starred as The Joker.

“No, I never did,” the 45-year-old actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman admitted to Syfy while promoting his latest film Blade Runner 2049. “As soon as you watch it, that’s when it becomes subjective.”

“I just think with watching your own films, it can be too self-conscious of a process,” Jared continued. “You either like what you did and you’re prone to repeat it, or you didn’t like it, and it can make you self-conscious. I’m not sure how much win there is for me. But I read the scripts, so I know what’s going to happen.”

Jared Leto Reacts to Horrifying Las Vegas Shooting on 'Ellen'

Jared Leto is opening up to Ellen DeGeneres about the shooting in Las Vegas that left over fifty people dead on Sunday night (October 1).

While visiting The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday (October 5), the 45-year-old actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman reacted to the horrible event.

“It’s horrific, it’s heartbreaking, but I do think that no matter how much evil there is in the world, nothing can defeat the human spirit. We need to continue to live our lives, to follow our dreams, and to keep moving forward,” he said.

“It’s just heartbreaking and senseless. I hope that if anything comes from this, it’s that we all get a little closer. That we all listen a little bit more and have a greater sense of understand and empathy and kindness with each other.

Jared Leto to Play Hugh Hefner in Biopic

Jared Leto has landed a new role: playing the late Hugh Hefner in an upcoming biopic.

The 91-year-old Playboy icon passed away just last week at the age of 91, and Brett Ratner has a biopic planned.

Jared is an old friend,” Brett, who will direct the film, told THR. “When he heard I got the rights to Hef‘s story, he told me, ‘I want to play him. I want to understand him.’ And I really believe Jared can do it. He’s one of the great actors of today.”

Brett wanted to introduce Jared to Hugh before his death but was unable to due to Hugh’s declining health. “There’s enough footage on Hef out there that Jared will be able to get as much information as he wants,” Brett said.

Jared Leto Explains Why He'll Never Watch 'Dallas Buyers Club'

Jared Leto won an Oscar for his performance in the movie Dallas Buyers Club, but he has never seen the film and doesn’t plan on ever watching it.

“It was on page a beautiful role and I saw the opportunity that was there. It moved me to tears when I read the script and I really fell in love with the character,” the 45-year-old actor said in an interview with Elvis Duran and the Z100 Morning Show.

“I’ve actually never seen the movie,” he added. “It was such a deep and emotional experience and the response was so overwhelmingly positive, I just don’t have any business watching it. I don’t need to look at it like we all would do, knit pick or find some fault or criticism. To let it be what it is, it works for people great, if it didn’t that’s fine.”

Jared is currently promoting his work in the upcoming movie Blade Runner 2049.
