Ben Platt is dapper in a suit while hitting the red carpet at the 2019 Jimmy Awards held at the Minskoff Theatre on Monday (June 24) in New York City.

The 25-year-old entertainer was joined at the event by Kiss Me Kate‘s Stephanie Styles, Be More Chill‘s Jason Tam and George Salazar, Dear Evan Hansen‘s Andrew Barth Feldman, Montego Glover, Jagged Little Pill‘s Derek Klena, Mean Girls‘ Kyle Selig and Erika Henningsen, SpongeBob SquarePants‘ Ethan Slater, The Cher Show‘s Micaela Diamond and King Kong‘s Christiani Pitts.

The 11th annual Jimmy Awards are also known as National High School Musical Theatre Awards.

Top prizes went to Ethan Kelso, winning Best Performance by an Actor for his work as Will Bloom in Big Fish at Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts in Logan, Utah, and Ekele Ukegbu, who won Best Performance by an Actress, having played Aida in Aida at Elmont Memorial Junior-Senior High School in Nassau County, New York. Both were awarded $25,000 scholarships.

The new musical Be More Chill is now open on Broadway and the cast stepped out to celebrate following the opening night performance on Sunday (March 10) in New York City.

The show’s four leads – Jason Tam, Stephanie Hsu, Will Roland, and George Salazar – gathered for a group photo on the red carpet at the after party at Gotham Hall.

The actors were joined by their co-stars Gerard Canonico, Katlyn Carlson, Tiffany Mann, Lauren Marcus, Britton Smith, and Jason SweetTooth Williams. The show’s swings also stepped out for the party. Be More Chill is running now at the Lyceum Theatre!

The new Broadway musical Be More Chill is now in previews and the producers have released some first look photos from the show!

Will Roland, Jason Tam, Stephanie Hsu, George Salazar, and more are featured in the new production shots.

The musical began preview performances last week and it broke the seven-performance house record at the Lyceum Theatre. The show grossed $738,384 and nearly sold out the whole week of shows.

The previous seven-performance record for the Lyceum was set back in 2008 by Patrick Stewart‘s Macbeth. That show grossed $584,033 in that week.

Jason Tam is playing the role of Peter the Apostle in the production of Jesus Christ Superstar Live, currently airing on NBC, and here is some more info on the actor!

The 35-year-old actor is a Broadway veteran, having made his debut on the Great White Way as a child actor in Les Miserables.

Jason later appeared in the shows A Chorus Line, Lysistrata Jones, Marry Me a Little, and most recently originated the role of David in If/Then opposite Idina Menzel.

Jason was a series regular on One Life to Live for five years in the role of Markko Rivera and he most recently appeared on television in several episodes of Do No Harm.

NBC has released a gallery of new portraits featuring John Legend and the cast of the upcoming Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert.

John will be playing Jesus in the show alongside Sara Bareilles as Mary Magdalene, Brandon Victor Dixon as Judas, Alice Cooper as King Herod, and Jason Tam as Peter.

The show will air live on Sunday, April 1 and it will be performed in front of a live audience at the Marcy Avenue Armory in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Mario Lopez shows off his dance moves while performing in the opening number of A Chorus Line at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday (July 29) in Hollywood.

The 42-year-old actor, who starred in the musical on Broadway back in 2008, was joined in the show by his wife Courtney Lopez. They met while doing the show in New York!

Also starring in the production were Ross Lynch, The Cheetah Girls‘ Sabrina Bryan, Tony-nominated actor Robert Fairchild, Emmy-nominated choreographer Spencer Liff, Smash‘s Krysta Rodriguez, Broadway stars Mara Davi, Jason Tam, Leigh Zimmerman, J. There are two more performances of the musical set for Saturday and Sunday night.
