Amazon is adapting the Stephen King book series The Dark Tower into a television series and the two leads have been cast!

Sam Strike, best known for his work on Nightflyers, has landed the role of the Gunslinger, Roland Deschain. The series will take place many years before the events in the recent film adaptation, in which Idris Elba played the Gunslinger.

The series will follow “Roland Deschain’s origin story – how he first became a gunslinger and got his guns, his first conflict with the man in black, his first love and his first mission as a gunslinger,” according to Deadline.

Jasper, who was recently seen in the film BlacKkKlansman, is believed to play Marten, the target of Roland.

The BlacKkKlansman stars were in attendance at the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday (January 13) at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.

Co-stars Topher Grace and Jasper Paakkonen, as well as director Spike Lee, were also in attendance.

BlacKkKlansman was nominated for Best Picture, Adam was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, and Spike was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay. The movie was also nominated for Best Cinematography.

Laura Harrier is picture perfect as she hits the red carpet while attending the premiere of her anticipated film BlacKkKlansman held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Wednesday (August 8) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 28-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-stars John David Washington, Corey Hawkins, Damaris Lewis, Topher Grace and his wife Ashley Hinshaw, Ashlie Atkinson, and Jasper Paakkonen and his girlfriend Alexandra Escat.

Also in attendance was writer-director of the film Spike Lee and his pal Dave Chappelle, who came out to show his support.

That same evening, John David made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about growing up around famous people, asking Morgan Freeman for an autograph, playing football, what his dad Denzel Washington was like as a sports coach growing up, and winning the grand prize at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival for BlacKkKlansman.
