Jay Hernandez paid a visit to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday (January 28) and opened up about being the new Magnum P.I.!

The 41-year-old actor revealed that the team behind the reboot opted for him to not imitate the iconic mustache worn by the man who portrayed his character in the original Magnum series, Tom Selleck.

“It’s funny, that was a conversation I had with the producers and all the creative people involved,” Jay admitted. “It was my first question, literally, that was my first question. They said no mustache and I was like, ‘okay, right on.’ You know, in the early ’80′s it was kind of a great thing but now it’s sort of like a hipster thing.”

“I don’t know if could just rock the mustache, I don’t know if it’s appropriate,” Jay continued before host Stephen pulled out fake mustaches for both of them to try on.

The 46-year-old Breaking In actress and the 38-year-old Fantastic Four star looked stunning on day two of the 2019 Monte Carlo TV Festival on Friday (June 15) in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.

In February, L.A.’s Finest executive producer/co-showrunner Brandon Sonnier‘s leg was amputated below the knee after an accident involving a stunt car hit a shipping container.

Keanu Reeves walks the red carpet at the premiere of his new movie Toy Story 4 on Tuesday (June 11) at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.

The 54-year-old actor joins the beloved Disney/Pixar franchise as Duke Caboom and the early reviews say that he steals the movie!

Toy Story 4 hits theaters on June 21!

Wilmer Valderrama and Jay Hernandez hit the blue carpet at the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night (April 7) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The actors both sported navy suits as they stepped out for the awards show.

Other stars at the awards show included Danica Patrick, Beth Behrs, AJ McLean, and Dennis Quaid.

Tiffany Haddish and Jay Hernandez hit James Corden‘s couch on last night’s (September 24) episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden and things got heated quick!

Host James asked Tiffany, 38, about her about playing a teacher in her new film Night School and questioned her about what kind of teacher she would be if given the chance.

“I would teach sex education,” Tiffany insisted. “Lesson one would be hygiene, because good hygiene equals good sex.”

Alex O’Loughlin and his wife, Malia Jones, pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of his show Hawaii Five-0!

The 42-year-old actor and the 41-year-old surfer and model attended the Sunset On The Beach event, which also rang in the premiere of Magnum P.I., at Queen’s Surf Beach over the weekend in Waikiki, Hawaii.

They were joined by Magnum P.I.‘s Jay Hernandez and Perdita Weeks.

The next day, Alex was spotted filming a football scene with his co-stars Jorge Garcia, Meaghan Rath, Taylor Wily, Ian Anthony Dale, and Shawn Mokuahi Garnett.

Season nine of Hawaii Five-0 premieres on September 28, and season one of Magnum P.I. premieres on September 24, on CBS.
