Kristin and Jay accepted the award for Favorite New TV Drama for their show Beauty and the Beast during the show. They beat out Arrow, Elementary, Nashville, and Revolution for the honor.

The 29-year-old actress and her 30-year-old co-star play the title roles in the show.

Here’s a synopsis: Detective Catherine Chandler (Kreuk) witnessed the murder of her mother at the hands of two gunmen and would have been killed too, but someone – or something – saved her. Catherine discovers a clue that leads her to a handsome doctor named Vincent Keller (Ryan), who was reportedly killed by enemy fire while serving in Afghanistan in 2002. Catherine learns that Vincent is actually still alive and that it was he who saved her many years before. Vincent has been in hiding for the past 10 years to guard his secret – when he is enraged, he becomes a terrifying beast, unable to control his super-strength and heightened senses. Catherine agrees to protect his identity in return for any insight he may have into her mother’s murder.

Beauty and the Beast premieres October 11 at 9/8c on The CW – don’t miss it!

Stephen Amell and Justin Hartley talk on stage during their panels at the CW portion of the 2012 Summer TCA Press Tour at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday (July 30) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Stephen, 31, was joined by his Arrow co-star Katie Cassidy and the show’s executive producer Greg Berlanti, who revealed that Stephen performs one-quarter of the stunts in the show. Check out the shirtless pic he posted on Instagram this weekend!

FYI: Justin, who will star on Emily Owens, M.D. this fall with Mamie Gummer, originally played the role of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow on Smallville for five seasons.

Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan pose after a panel for their new CW series Beauty and the Beast held during 2012 Comic-Con at the San Diego Convention Center on Thursday (July 12) in California.

“[My character Vincent] is part of a military experiment so that’s where his back story comes from” Jay explained of his Beast character to THR, while Kristin‘s Beauty (aka Catherine) “is a detective in the NYPD so it’s got an element of the procedural and an element of mythology and romance.”

Beauty and the Beast premieres on October 11 at 9/8c on The CW.

Kristin Kreuk and AnnaSophia Robb attend The CW’s Upfront presentation held at New York City Center on Thursday (May 17) in NYC.

Both actresses have a new series on the network – AnnaSophia takes on the role of a young Carrie Bradshaw in The Carrie Diaries, while Kristin stars in Beauty and the Beast. Check out a preview clip below!
