Jeffrey Tambor 'Has No Plans' to Quit 'Transparent' Despite Sexual Misconduct Allegations (Report)

Jeffrey Tambor apparently will not be leaving Transparent, his hit Amazon show, after allegations of sexual misconduct came to light.

A rep for the 73-year-old actor apparently told the New York Times that he has “no plans to quit,” despite releasing a statement that lead many to believe he would be leaving the show.

“I’ve already made clear my deep regret if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being aggressive, but the idea that I would deliberately harass anyone is simply and utterly untrue. Given the politicized atmosphere that seems to have afflicted our set, I don’t see how I can return to Transparent,” his statement last month read.

Tambor was accused of sexual assault by a makeup artist, and was accused of sexual harassment by Transparent actress Trace Lysette.

Jeffrey Tambor Accused of Sexual Assault by 'Never Again' Makeup Artist

A third woman, who worked with Jeffrey Tambor on his 2001 film Never Again, has come forward to accuse him of sexual assault.

The 73-year-old actor is already facing harassment allegations from his former assistant Van Barnes as well as his Transparent co-star Trace Lysette. He has responded to both claims and announced he is leaving the show.

This time, Never Again makeup artist Tamara Delbridge told Refinery29 that he forcibly kissed her on the set of the film.

On the last day of the shoot, she allegedly told Jeffrey, “It was very nice to work with you,” adding, “And he grabbed me out of nowhere and kissed me on the lips. And I was just shocked. I didn’t even know how to react, because how do you react when you’re not expecting anything like that? So I didn’t know if I was embarrassed or shocked or mortified or stunned. It was a whole bunch of emotions.”

Wondering if she had come across as flirty, Tamara also revealed that Jeffrey‘s co-star Bill Duke saw what happened and told her that Jeffrey was inappropriate.

“In my mind, he just confirmed that I didn’t do anything to provoke it,” Tamara shared. “I don’t know why (Jeffrey) did that to me. But an older, prominent actor violated me and then another older, prominent actor let me know that it was inappropriate. So I think it’s important to add because I will appreciate Bill Duke until the day I die.”

Jeffrey Tambor Exits 'Transparent' Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations (Statement)

Jeffrey Tambor is officially leaving Amazon’s Transparent after sexual harassment allegations have surfaced.

“Playing Maura Pfefferman on Transparent has been one of the greatest privileges and creative experiences of my life. What has become clear over the past weeks, however, is that this is no longer the job I signed up for four years ago,” the 73-year-old actor said in a statement to Deadline. “I’ve already made clear my deep regret if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being aggressive, but the idea that I would deliberately harass anyone is simply and utterly untrue. Given the politicized atmosphere that seems to have afflicted our set, I don’t see how I can return to Transparent.”

Tambor has won two Emmys, a Golden Globe, and a SAG Awards for his work on the show. The show was just renewed for a fifth season over the summer.

'Transparent' Actress Trace Lysette Accuses Jeffrey Tambor of Sexual Harassment, He Responds

Trace Lysette is speaking out to accuse her Transparent co-star Jeffrey Tambor of sexual harassment on the set of the Emmy-winning Amazon series.

The actress, who is transgender, says that when she emerged on set in a revealing costume, Tambor said, “My God, Trace. I want to attack you sexually.” Minutes later while the camera was being set up, she says that Tambor, dressed as his character Maura, approached her.

“He came in close, put his bare feet on top of mine so I could not move, leaned his body against me, and began quick, discreet thrust back and forth against my body. I felt his penis on my hip through his thin pajamas,” Lysette told THR.

Trace says the moment was discreet and anyone who might have saw it happen probably thought he was giving her a hug.

Jeffrey has previously been accused of sexual harassment by his personal assistant Van Barnes, whose accusations in a private Facebook post launched an investigation at Amazon into the claims.

Jeffrey Tambor is firing back at his former assistant Van Barnes, who apparently posted on Facebook saying he acted inappropriately around her.

Deadline has confirmed that Amazon is now looking into the claims concerning the star of their hit show Transparent.

“I am aware that a former disgruntled assistant of mine has made a private post implying that I had acted in an improper manner toward her,” Jeffrey said in a statement. “I adamantly and vehemently reject and deny any and all implication and allegation that I have ever engaged in any improper behavior toward this person or any other person I have ever worked with. I am appalled and distressed by this baseless allegation.”

Van‘s Facebook post is private, and reportedly does not go into detail about what happened between them.
