Jem (Aubrey Peeples) gets offered a solo contract in this second official trailer for the upcoming movie Jem and the Holograms!

Here’s the synopsis: A small-town girl catapults from underground video sensation to global superstar, as she and her three sisters begin a one-in-a-million journey of discovering that some talents are too special to keep hidden.

The upcoming live-action movie Jem and the Holograms has just announced it’s leading cast!

Nashville‘s Aubrey Peeples will take on the title role of Jem – her first major film role!

Disney’s A.N.T. Farm actress Stefanie Scott will portray Jem’s sister Kimber, Pretty Little Liars actress Aurora Perrineau will play the Holograms’ Shana, and The Fosters‘ Hayley Kiyoko will play Aja, THR reports.

Jem and The Holograms follows Jerrica Benton, and her alter ego, Jem, as she manages the Starlight Music Group and also moonlights as the lead singer for the band.

The movie will be directed by Jon M. Chu and produced by music mogul Scooter Braun.

This is some awesome news as we head into the end of the week – Jem and the Holograms is being made into a live action movie!

Jon M. Chu, who also directed Step Up 3D and Justin Bieber‘s Believe movie, is bringing the beloved 80s cartoon to life, he confirmed in a YouTube vid.

“The movie, without giving away too much, is a modern day, live action reinvention of the 1980s Hasbro classic cartoon Jem and the Holograms,” he says in the video.
