Jennifer Hudson heads into the NBC Studios for an early morning appearance on The Today Show on Monday (February 4) in New York City.

The 31-year-old singer talked about performing “America the Beautiful” with the Sandy Hook Elementary School Chorus the night before at the Super Bowl.

“It was emotional. Just being there and seeing the kids. I mean, they’re close and it’s very close to home for myself as well. It was overwhelming,” Jennifer said.

“Before we sat in the room and I got to meet them and then we went over the song. That’s where I couldn’t get through the song because it was just overwhelming. Before we all went out I hugged each and every one of them,” Jennifer added.

Jennifer also said that her favorite part of the evening was her pal Beyonce putting the lights out with her Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Jennifer will be performing the song “America the Beautiful” during the Super Bowl game later today with some special guests.

Jennifer Hudson belts out a rendition of “Let’s Stay Together” during the 2013 Commander-In-Chief’s Inaugural Ball on Monday (January 21) in Washington, D.C.

The 31-year-old entertainer performed while President Barack Obama danced with his lovely wife Michelle Obama on stage.

“Right now the President and First Lady will dance to Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together,” to be performed by… ME!!! Yes! Amazing night!” Jennifer tweeted.

“Just danced to “Let’s Stay Together” with the love of my life and the President of the United States. I’m so proud of Barack,” Michelle tweeted.

The 51-year-old President of the United States and the 49-year-old First Lady danced to Jennifer Hudson‘s rendition of the classic song “Let’s Stay Together,” which Barack famously sang last year.

Earlier in the day, the 31-year-old entertainer and Alicia were seen attending a screening for the film.

At the screening, Jennifer chatted with E! News about having another baby.

“I definitely want another baby,” Jennifer shared. “I want a little girl so bad and every day [David Jr.] reminds me, ‘Mommy I want a baby sister. I want a baby sister.’”
