Jeremy Jackson vividly remembers the first time he tried methamphetamine.
“It was like I had found the key to life that I had been looking for all those years,” the 28-year-old former Baywatch star tells In Touch. “Everything was perfect. I felt in tune, like all my senses had been heightened by one thousand. I was on a high.”
At the peak of his addiction, the 5’10″ actor weighed just 135 pounds.
“I would have uncontrollable nosebleeds. I wasn’t even snorting stuff and blood was just gushing from my head,” Jeremy remembers. “I would wake up in the morning with horrible pain in my lower back from all the toxins I was putting in me, but I didn’t give a crap as long as I could get more.”
The end finally came in 2005, when Jeremy was arrested for setting up a home meth lab.
“My world completely collapsed in one instant and I had this moment of clarity where I realized, ‘Wow. I have done this all to myself,’” he says.
Sober for more than three years, Jeremy now weighs a healthy 175 pounds and is back on TV starring on Confessions of a Teen Idol, which premiered on VH1 this past Sunday, January 4. If you missed it, don’t worry. There are seven more episodes in the eight-part series.
“I have a great relationship with my family, a girlfriend who loves me and a new happiness, which I didn’t think was possible,” says Jeremy. “I wouldn’t give it up for the world.”
Confessions also features features Christopher Atkins (The Blue Lagoon), David Chokachi (Baywatch), Billy Hufsey (Fame), Eric Nies (MTV’s The Real World and The Grind), Jamie Walters (Beverly Hills 90210), and Adrian Zmed (TJ Hooker, Grease 2).
