Alexander Skarsgard shows off his super buff biceps in a tan polo shirt as he steps out on Thursday morning (September 27) in New York City.

The 42-year-old Emmy-winning actor stepped out to promote his upcoming new thriller flick Hold the Dark.

During a recent interview, Alex opened up about how he got the role – and it involves getting extremely close to director Jeremy Saulnier!

“Well, I’ve stalked Jeremy since Blue Ruin,” Alex joked to EW. “I slept in my car outside [his] house for two years.”

Alex continued: “I saw Blue Ruin when it came out and I was just like, ‘Who the f—k is this filmmaker?’ I think he is one of the greatest filmmakers that we have in America today.”

Hold the Dark hits theaters and Netflix on Friday, September 28!

Alexander Skarsgard stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night (September 26) and teased that he may be making his return to Big Little Lies for season two of the hit HBO series.

“I was on set, yes. I can’t disclose what I did on set,” the 42-year-old teased. “Maybe, I was acting. I might have been just moral support. I might have just made coffee for the ladies. I might have helped Meryl Streep with her acting… Not help, but just give her little pointers, fine tune it a bit.”

In the upcoming season, Meryl is portraying Mary Louise Wright, the headstrong mother of Perry (Skarsgard). They both starred in the 2014 film The Giver.

“I did a movie years ago and one of the incentives was to work with Meryl Streep. It was a scene with Meryl Streep and I was very, very excited about it,” Alexander recalled. “I didn’t sleep the night before. I was really excited about it. I showed up on set and I was like, ‘Alright, where is Mrs. Streep?’”

Alexander Skarsgard is opening up about his latest role!

The 42-year-old actor appeared alongside Jeffrey Wright and Jeremy Saulnier at Build Series on Wednesday (September 26) in New York City.

During his appearance, Alexander discussed Hold the Dark, which is about retired naturalist and wolf expert Russell Core (Wright) who journeys to the edge of civilization in northern Alaska at the pleading of Medora Slone, a young mother whose son was killed by a pack of wolves. As he attempts to help Medora track down the wolves who took her son, a strange and dangerous relationship develops between the two lonely souls. But when Medora’s husband Vernon (Skarsgård) returns home from the Iraq War, the news of his child’s death ignites a violent chain of events. As local cop, Donald Marium, races to stop Vernon’s vengeful rampage, Core is forced on a perilous odyssey into the heart of darkness.
