The Zero Dark Thirty actress is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her work in the riveting film.

Jessica is nominated against Silver Linings Playbook‘s Jennifer Lawrence, Amour‘s Emmanuelle Riva, Beasts of the Southern Wild‘s Quvenzhane Wallis, and The Impossible‘s Naomi Watts.

After the luncheon, Jessica will head back to New York for the final week of performances in her Broadway play The Heiress.

Jessica Chastain is all smiles as she heads inside the Walter Kerr Theatre for a performance of The Heiress on Saturday (February 2) in New York City.

The Oscar-nominated actress recently opened up about playing such a strong female role in the film Zero Dark Thirty.

“I feel honored to portray a character like [Maya] because I’ve known a lot of women who have chosen that in their lives but I’d never seen that in cinema,” she told the LA Times. “It’s wonderful to tell everyone’s story.”

It was just announced that Jessica will be joining Colin Farrell in the upcoming film Miss Julie.

The film will be based on a play that “took place in 1874 at the estate of the Count of Sweden, and follows a woman trying to escape an existence cramped by social mores who is suddenly drawn to a senior servant and a battle of the sexes ensues,” according to Variety.
