Sara Bareilles Joins Broadway Stars for Double Standards Concert in NYC

Sara Bareilles walks the pink carpet at the Double Standards concert held at Town Hall on Sunday (November 12) in New York City.

The Tony and Grammy-nominated singer joined some of Broadway’s best, including original Waitress star Jessie Mueller, for a concert celebrating women’s rights, health, and empowerment.

Also in attendance were Sara‘s longtime friend Ingrid Michaelson and her former The Great Comet co-star Denee Benton, as well as Adrienne Warren, Eden Espinosa, Orfeh, Laura Bell Bundy, Linda Hart, Lena Hall, Sierra Boggess, Lesli Margherita, Morgan James, Ana Gasteyer, and more.

“Loved tonight. Thank you all the magic makers and supportive humans for coming together. Good for the soul,” Sara wrote on Instagram.

FYI: Sara is wearing a Luisa Beccaria suit, Pedro Garcia heels, and Swarovski jewelry.

Tony Shalhoub & Katrina Lenk Celebrate 'The Band's Visit' Broadway Opening Night!

Tony Shalhoub happily poses for a photograph alongside his co-star Katrina Lenk while attending the opening night after party for their new musical The Band’s Visit on Broadway held at The Copacabana on Wednesday (November 9) in New York City.

The talented stars were joined at the event by their fellow co-stars John Cariani, Ari’el Stachel, George Abud, Etai Benson, Adam Kantor, Andrew Polk, Bill Army, Rachel Prather and Jonathan Raviv.

The Band’s Visit celebrates the deeply human ways music, longing and laughter can connect us all. After a mix-up at the border, an Egyptian Police Band is sent to a remote village in the middle of the Israeli desert. 'Carousel' Returning to Broadway with Jessie Mueller, Joshua Henry & Renee Fleming!

The classic musical Carousel is set to return to Broadway with an amazing cast attached!

Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller will play Julie Jordan alongside Tony nominee Joshua Henry as Billy Bigelow. Opera singer Renee Fleming will play Nettie Fowler.

Jessie is best known for playing Carole King in the musical Beautiful and originating the role of Jenna in Sara BareillesWaitress. Joshua is currently playing Aaron Burr in the touring production of Hamilton.

The revival of Carousel will open on March 23, 2018 at a theater to be announced in the future, according to the New York Times.

“It’s a very complicated, very rich, very spiritual tapestry about reconciliation and redemption and being responsible for what we do,” director Jack O’Brien said about the musical.

Sara Bareilles is rumored to be joining the cast of the Broadway musical Waitress, the show she wrote the music for!

The Grammy and Tony-nominated singer is said to be in talks to join the show this spring after the departure of original star Jessie Mueller, according to Billboard.

Sara and Jessie made an appearance at the Build Series in New York City on Tuesday (January 10) and the singer was asked if she would like to play the role of Jenna.

Sara Bareilles Hosts CD Signing & Performance for Her Broadway Show 'Waitress'

Sara Bareilles poses for a photo with the star of her Broadway musical Waitress, Jessie Mueller, at the show’s CD signing on Tuesday (August 23) in New York City.

The Tony Award-nominated composer hosted the performance portion of the event, where Jessie and her co-stars Drew Gehling and Dakin Matthews sang tunes from the show.

Other actors signing CDs at the event included Nick Cordero and Molly Hager.

Sara Bareilles Joins Jessie Mueller for 'Waitress' Tony Awards Performance (Video)

Sara Bareilles joins the cast of the Broadway musical Waitress for a performance at the 2016 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.

The 36-year-old singer wrote the music and lyrics for the new musical and she joined star Jessie Mueller to sing the show’s signature song “She Used to Be Mine.”

The full cast of the musical began the performance with the show’s opening number “Opening Up.” Sadly, the show didn’t pick up any awards during the ceremony.
