'Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them' Will Be 5 Total Movies!

Check out this brand new special poster for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them!

Author J.K. Rowling hosted a special Facebook Live Q&A on Thursday (October 13) during which she revealed that the story will play out in five movies total!

“.@jk_rowling has just confirmed the magic continues in a total of FIVE MOVIES! We can’t wait! #FantasticBeasts,” the official movie account tweeted.

Also in attendance at the event were Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, and Dan Fogler, with Colin Farrell and Jon Voight joining via satellite from Los Angeles.

Fantastic Beasts opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander (Redmayne) has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures.

Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

The film hits theaters on November 18. Watch the stream below:

J.K. Rowling Reveals Her Own 'Harry Potter' Patronus

J.K. Rowling is allowing fans to find out their own Patronus animal!

In fact, the 51-year-old Harry Potter author revealed hers to be a pine marten when she originally took the test “ages ago,” but now it has changed!

“As many of you have now realised, the @pottermore Patronus Test is finally live!” J.K. tweeted. “I took the @pottermore test (which I wrote) ages ago when it was a work in progress and got a pine marten Patronus. I was happy, because…… my fondness for weaselly creatures is well documented. However, when we finalised the @pottermore test last week I took it again…… and found that it had changed (which, as we know, can happen). My new Patronus has personal associations and I like it even better…… so as far as I’m concerned, the @pottermore test works! Here’s my Patronus…It’s a heron :)”

J.K. Rowling Announces She's 'Done' With 'Harry Potter'

Sad news for Harry Potter fans!

Author J.K. Rowling has announced that she’s officially done with Harry‘s story after The Cursed Child.

“[Harry] goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we’re done,” J.K. told Reuters. “This is the next generation, you know. So, I’m thrilled to see it realized so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now.”

The play takes place 19 years later, and follows Harry‘s son Albus Severus as he attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which is now playing on London’s West End, was released in book form on J.K. and Harry‘s birthdays – July 31!
