Rascal Flatts's Final Concert Will Be 'Emotional' & 'Sad' The Band Says

Rascal Flatts are opening up about their farewell tour and final show that happens months from now during the Country Radio Seminar this week.

The guys – Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney – already know that the show will be very emotional for them.

“It’s going to be really, really sad, and it’s going to be emotional,” Jay shared.

Joe Don added, “It will be so bittersweet to play that last note of the guitar, hear that last note ring out on [DeMarcus’] bass and hear Gary hit the stratosphere…Bridgestone Arena is liable to just explode because of Gary’s voice that last night. It’s [going to be] so much beautifulness, so much love and so much appreciation for everything we’ve gotten to do … I don’t know how I’m gonna feel, but there’s a lot to be thankful for, for sure.”

The trio also revealed that their fans have many questions about them saying goodbye to the stage.

“A lot of people have asked us on social media … is there something that happened?” Jay said. “Did we have a falling out? Have we fought with each other? Have we gotten to the point to where we can’t get along? And that’s really not the case. We love each other, probably more now than we ever did when we first started. We’ve just gotten to this point in the road to where it’s forking, and we’re entering into new seasons of our lives. We haven’t signed a pact to say we’re never going to work together ever again.”

He did add that while there are no reunion plans just yet, there might be down the road.

“There are no immediate plans to do any more Rascal Flatts shows past Oct. 30,” he says. “I want people to know that this is a decision that we didn’t reach lightly. It was a very tough decision … but it is something we feel is the best for the three of us at this point in our lives right now.”

Rascal Flatts announced their farewell tour at the top of the year, and their final show will be in June.

Rascal Flatts Announce Farewell Tour After 20 Years Together

It’s the end of an era – Rascal Flatts are hanging up their boots and have announced their final, farewell tour.

The guys – Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney – revealed the news this morning (January 7) on CBS This Morning.

“When we started out 20 years ago, we could not imagine all of the people, places and gifts we would encounter,” Gary shared in a statement. “The greatest feeling ever, is being told that our music has been the soundtrack to their lives. What greater gift can an artist receive than to be told ‘I got married to “Bless The Broken Road,”’ or ‘We played “My Wish” at my graduation.’ That ‘“What Hurts The Most” is the song that made me love country music for the first time,’ or ‘“I’m Movin’ On” helped me get sober’ or even that ‘“Changed” made me call my family again after not talking to them for years.’”

He adds, “That’s why we create music and the reason we can’t wait to celebrate this incredible 20 year journey all year, with our fans who we love dearly. I don’t know what God has in store for the future, but I am excited to see what He has planned!”

Jay added, “We’re really looking forward to getting to spend this entire year loving on our fans, and thanking them for allowing us to have the most amazing career over the last 20 years. While it is of course bittersweet, it is so important to us to celebrate what our music has meant to their lives, as well as what the fans have meant to us. There is no sadness here, just new chapters, new journeys, and new beginnings. Rascal Flatts’ music will live on forever, because of our fans, and this year is all about them!”

“I’m most proud of the fact that we’ve pursued our dreams together and with courage, hard-work and dedication we’ve been able to cultivate our dreams into reality,” Joe Don said. “It’s simply incredible! There’s no doubt we have been blessed way beyond belief and we can’t wait to spend the rest of 2020 expressing our love and appreciation to all of our devoted fans, music industry friends and our families for believing in us and playing a major role in our path to here.”

Rascal Flatts: 'Yours If You Want It' Stream, Lyrics & Download - Listen Now!

Rascal Flatts are officially back with a brand new single called “Yours If You Want It,” and you can stream it right here!

The track is the lead single from the band’s – Gary LeVox, Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus – upcoming tenth studio album and follow-up to 2014′s Rewind, which is expected to be released sometime this year via Big Machine Records.

“We always look for a lyric that’s rock-solid and tight,” Jay said about the song (via USA Today). “And we’re suckers for songs with big choruses and melodies because they suit Gary’s vocal. In fact, when we were recording this, because the music was really big, I felt his vocal was getting swallowed up a bit. So I asked him to raise the melody an octave higher on the last two verses. He liked the idea because that helped him put his stamp on it. Once he finds his passion in a song, very few singers in the world can do what he does with the soul that he has.”

“Here’s a guy talking about how life has put him through the wringer,” Jay added. “He’s very vulnerable. But he’s saying he still has something to give and ‘it’s yours if you want it.’ It’s sweet, honest and sentimental.”

Yours If You Want It” is also available for download now!
