DNCE show off their signature style in a new spread in the April issue of Schön! magazine, shot by Steven Taylor.
In the mag, the Joe Jonas fronted group opened up about their mission as a band and their sometimes strange musical choices.
Joe, on their band name: “We wanted to remain vague and have people decide what it stands for. Some people come up with what each letter means and some with funny phrases.”
Cole, on how they emerged into the music scene: “In the sweetest and kindest way possible we want to punch the whole world in the face and tell them we’re here!”
Joe, on their off-beat lyrics: “We tried to make the lyrics for the EP a little left of center of what people would expect. There are things anyone can relate to that people go through, whether it’s relationships or love [but] we tried to put a new twist on it. We made a song about leaving stuff at someone else’s place and taking that next step when you’re sure it’s a real relationship. We just said, ‘you know, why don’t you leave your toothbrush at my place and have cake by the ocean, and let’s just have a party by the beach,’ and what else would you really want?”
