Joe Simpson, father and manager of Jessica and Ashlee, is jumping into his own endeavors in the industry – he’ll be bringing a new comedy series to Nickelodeon!
The story will be based on his real-life experience as a psychologist in Texas who’s raising two daughters.
According to THR, the show will center on one of the daughters who dishes out advices to kids at her school by imitating her dad.
Jessica Simpson and her parents Tina and dad Joe are honored at Operation Smile‘s 8th Annual Smile Gala at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel on Friday (October 2) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Operation Smile presented the Simpson family with the Operation Smile Founders Circle Award for their dedication to improving the lives of children throughout the world suffering from facial deformities.
Jess is a Smile Ambassador and attended an Operation Smile medical mission to Kenya with her father Joe in October, 2005.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, aka Jessica Simpson‘s boyfriend, catches up with musician Ryan Cabrera (ex-boyfriend of Jessica‘s younger sister Ashlee) at a tennis court on Thursday (January 8) in Studio City, Calif.
Earlier in the day, Tony, 28, was seen playing a round of golf with Jessica‘s manager father Joe Simpson.
Mr. Romo has been taking it easy lately after collapsing in the shower.

Jessica Simpson has reportedly rented a house in Dallas, Texas for the Christmas season to be close to her current flame, Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo.
The last few days, the 27-year-old Major Movie Star star was seen hitting up the high-end stores in the neighborhood with dad Joe and mom Tina.
Unfortunately the Romo-Simpson relationship, which Jessica‘s father Joe help set up, appears to be a sinker. Maybe you missed it, but football fans think Jessica‘s attendance during last Sunday’s game caused Tony Romo‘s worst game in his entire career. (He received a quarterback rating of just 22.2 while his previous low was last December, when then-girlfriend Carrie Underwood was in the stands.)

Ashlee Simpson walks the gray carpet at the 2007 CosmoGIRL! Born to Lead Awards at NYC’s Hearst Tower on Tuesday. The 23-year-old singer/actress wore head-to-toe black — vintage Azzedine Alaia minidress, suede thigh-high Prada boots, scarf, and sheer arm and leg coverings.
This year’s celebrity honorees included Ashlee, Eva Amurri, Fall Out Boy, Jordin Sparks and Jonas Brothers. All were chosen for making their personal dreams come true or making a positive change in their communities. All winners represented today’s young leaders, givers, humanitarians, life-savers, and visionaries.
Father manager Joe Simpson (pictured below) was also on hand to support daughter Ashlee. Boyfriend Pete Wentz was at the awards too but didn’t pose for photos with Ashlee–he was with his own band Fall Out Boy.

Hot dang it! Is every celeb and their mothers admitting to plastic surgery today?! First Heidi Montag came clean with her nose job and boob job. Now, Ashlee Simpon‘s father, Joe confirms that his daughter had a nose job in May 2006:
On having no control over Ashlee’s decision to undergo rhinoplasty: “Girls have their own ideas. Anyway, there was a real problem with her breathing and that was cured.”
On good parenting being the reason his daughters Jessica and Ashlee haven’t gone the way of Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears: “We have a real family. You can’t just put these kids out in the world and they’re on their own. I can remember a time when Jessica was singing at Madison Square Garden and her outfit ripped before she went on. We were there for her.”
On Ashlee’s Saturday Night Live debacle: “She’d lost her voice, and Jordan Schur [then the head of her record label] insisted she lip-synch. She’d never done it before. She didn’t want to do it. Anyway, she’ll never do it again. We just did a huge tour, and there was no lip-synching.”
On denying being a controlling father (he’s a former Baptist minister): “I don’t tell my girls who to date or marry or what to do.”
On Jessica’s break-up with Nick Lachey: “I have nothing against Nick. But they got married very young. I told Jessica, ‘You’re going to hit an age when it’s all going to be clear to you — life that is — and you’ll know what you want to do. I do blame 50 percent of their break-up on the media.”
