John Geils Jr., the founder of the J. Geils Band, has died at the age of 71.
The rocker was found dead on Tuesday (April 11) at his home in Groton, Mass.
While Geils‘ death has been confirmed by Groton’s chief of police, no further details have been released.
John formed the J. Geils Band in 1967 while attending college and the band’s song “Centerfold” topped the Billboard‘s singles chart in the 1980s. While the band broke up in 1985, they reunited over the years regularly.
