John Travolta hits the stage to give a speech at the 2012 AFI Life Achievement Award ceremony honoring Shirley MacLaine held at Sony Pictures Studios on Thursday (June 7) in Culver City, Calif.

The 58-year-old actor led a tribute to Shirley, along with other AFI guests Jennifer Aniston and Julia Roberts.

Meanwhile, John‘s hit musical Grease recently celebrated its 40th anniversary of when it opened on Broadway! John filmed Grease back in 1978.

Savages stars Blake Lively, Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson, Salma Hayek, Emile Hirsch, John Travolta, Uma Thurman, and Benecio Del Toro.

Savages, which opens July 6, tells the story of pot growers Ben (Johnson) and Chon (Kitsch), who face off against the Mexican drug cartel who kidnap their shared girlfriend (Lively).
