“Can we bring Trump here? I think he needs help,” Johnny told the crowd, according to E! News. “It is just a question. I’m not insinuating anything. By the way, this is going to be in the press. It will be horrible. I like that you’re all part of it. But when was the last time an actor assassinated a president?”

“I want to clarify, I’m not an actor,” he added. “I lie for a living. However, it’s been a while and maybe it is time. Thank you so much for having me here.”

Johnny was seemingly alluding to President Abraham Lincoln‘s assassination by actor John Wilkes Booth in 1865.

Brenton Thwaites Admired Johnny Depp 'For So Long' Before Working Together on 'Pirates 5'

The 27-year-old actor recently gushed over working with Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem on the film.

PHOTOS: Check out the latest pics of Brenton Thwaites

Johnny and Javier are actors I’ve admired for so long in my career, for years and years, since I was a boy,” Brenton told WWD. “To get the chance to see them work together was amazing. When I was in a scene with these guys, you learn a lot, you feel a lot, and you learn to improvise and be irreverent. When you’re watching greats like Geoffrey Rush and Johnny Depp work together, it’s like watching a play that won’t happen again. It’s a real gift.”

Pictured: Brenton stops by the AOL Build Series studios with co-star Kaya Scodelario on Thursday (May 25) in New York City.

Is There a 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' End Credits Scene?

Great news for Pirates of the Caribbean 5, aka Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales fans – there is a post-credits scene!

The new film finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack (Johnny Depp) feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.
