Joaquin Phoenix is back in Joker mode.

The 48-year-old actor was seen on the set of Joker: Folie à Deux filming in downtown Manhattan early on Sunday morning (March 26).

In one scene, Joaquin’s titular character was seen being escorted away by police cars inside a correctional Gotham Police van.

One day before, we saw Lady Gaga in costume for the first time as Harley Quinn filming in New York City.

Last month, director Todd Phillips shared the movie’s first official photo of Gaga and Joaquin.

Joker: Folie à Deux will reportedly be a musical, and is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 4, 2024.

We have the first photos of Lady Gaga in her Harley Quinn costume!

The 36-year-old entertainer filmed scenes for the upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux on Saturday morning (March 25) in New York City.

For her time on set, Gaga was seen wearing a new version of Harley Quinn’s iconic costume – she wore a red jacket, a black and white shirt, a black leather skirt, and black stockings along with clown makeup.

It appears Gaga was filming some sort of protest scene, as she was seen surrounded by police officers while there were tons of extras holding up signs and wearing clown makeup.

Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix have been busy filming the Joker sequel for the past few months now. Last month, director Todd Phillips shared the movie’s first official photo of Gaga and Joaquin, 48.

Joker: Folie à Deux, will reportedly be a musical, is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 4, 2024.

The first photo of Lady Gaga in character as Harley Quinn in the upcoming movie Joker: Folie à deux has been revealed!

The film’s director Todd Phillips took to his Instagram account on Tuesday (February 14) as a Valentine’s Day gift for fans.

The photo features Harley with her back up against a wall with her face just inches away from the Joker’s face as she holds her hands on his cheeks. It looks like her lipstick is smeared across his face, or possibly his red face makeup is smeared on hers!

Lady Gaga is feeling grateful!

The 36-year-old Chromatica superstar shared an update following the happy news of her nomination at the 2023 Academy Awards, where she is nominated for Best Original Song for “Hold My Hand” from the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack.

“Thank you so much to the Academy for nominating my song ‘Hold My Hand’ for an Oscar this year!” she captioned a photo of herself holding flowers.

Margot Robbie can’t wait to see Lady Gaga‘s portrayal of Harley Quinn!

Over the summer, it was announced that the 36-year-old entertainer will be playing Harley in the upcoming Joker sequel, Folie à Deux, opposite Joaquin Phoenix.

While attending the premiere of her new Babylon earlier this week, Margot, 32, said that she’s so “excited” to pass the Harley baton over to Gaga.

The Joker: Folie à Deux cast is expanding.

One more star was just revealed to be joining the ensemble of the highly anticipated Joker sequel on Thursday (October 20).

As with the first movie, the script is being written with Scott Silver. It’s expected to go into production in December.

The film will reportedly be set within Arkham, where Arthur Fleck ends up at the conclusion of the original film, and is said to feature musical elements.

The Todd Phillips-directed film is set to hit theaters on October 4, 2024. Plot details for the Warner Bros. and DC Films production have been kept under wraps.

However, we do know the names who will appear in the movie so far.

Zazie Beetz is in talks to return for the Joker sequel, Joker: Folie à deux.

According to Deadline, the 31-year-old actress would return in the new movie with Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.
