Jon Stewart is heading back to television thanks to his four-year production deal with HBO!
The 52-year-old comedian just stepped down as the host of Comedy Central’s long-running series The Daily Show and he is ready for the next step in his career.
“Jon Stewart led a revolution that changed the face of TV comedy on the Daily Show,” Michael Lombardo, the president of HBO programming, said in a statement. “He graced our network nearly 20 years ago, so we’re thrilled to welcome back his immense talents in this next chapter of his career.”
For now, Jon will be producing “timely short-form digital content” that will go live on HBO Now and HBO Go.
“Appearing on television 22 minutes a night clearly broke me. I’m pretty sure I can produce a few minutes of content every now and again,” Jon said in a statement.
