Jonathan Rhys Meyers has released a statement after being photographed taking swigs from a vodka bottle in London earlier this month.

The 37-year-old actor, who has been to rehab three times for issues with substance abuse, sent his fans a message on fiancée Mara Lane‘s Instagram account.

“Mara and I are thankful for your support and kindness during this time. I apologize for having a minor relapse and hope that people don’t think too badly of me. I stopped drinking immediately and it is no reflection on Damascus Cover as I was not meant to attend Cannes this year and I apologize to fans and colleagues,” he wrote. “I am on the mend and thank well wishers and sorry for my disheveled appearance as I was on my way home from a friends and had not changed I feel I made a mistake and feel quite embarrassed but this was just a blip in my recovery otherwise I’m living a healthy life. Love and blessings. #Rebel #Angel”

Fans were concerned about Jonathan after he did not attend the 2015 Cannes Film Festival to promote Damascus Cover.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Alex O’Loughlin are all smiles while having an August Rush reunion, which was posted on Instagram!

If you don’t remember, Jonathan and Alex were co-stars in 2007 film August Rush, which centered on “an orphaned musical prodigy who uses his gift as a clue to finding his birth parents.”

The 37-year-old actor was spotted attending the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas concert in Los Angeles this weekend with Mara and she was seen wearing a diamond ring, according to E! News.

Jonathan and Mara made their first official appearance as a couple back in September and then she supported him at an awards show in October.

“Congratulations Sweetheart on your award at the #IrishPostAwards. So lovely to share this wonderful evening w you. Xo,” Mara wrote on Twitter with the photo featured here.

According to the Irish Independent, Jonathan has been dating the actress for about six months.

Jonathan Rhys-Meyers‘ NBC show Dracula has been cancelled after being on the air for only one season.

The 36-year-old actor’s show was the latest one to be cancelled on the network, which included Revolution and Community.

In case you missed the big, Hannibal and About a Boy have both been renewed after having decent seasons for NBC.

There is still no word on if Parenthood will be renewed or cancelled. Stay tuned for more details!
